Educational Post Alert! We love to educate our community about the Notary Industry!

A Question we are asked most of the times when we are out on the field :)

What Is a Notarization?

A notarization is an official process performed by a Notary Public to help prevent fraud and protect the integrity of important documents.

When a document is notarized, the Notary verifies key facts about the signing, including:
✔️ The identity of the signer
✔️ The signer is acting willingly and understands what they are signing
✔️ The signature is properly completed (in person or remotely) - we do offer both.

A notarization creates a formal certificate that confirms these steps were followed.

It is "important to know" - A Notary "DOES NOT" verify the accuracy, legality, or validity of the document itself. Our role is to verify the signer is who they say they are & are signing on their own free will — NOT the contents of the document.

This protects individuals, businesses, and institutions by ensuring documents are executed properly and securely.

Have questions about notarization, remote online notarization, or apostille services?

We’re happy to help educate and guide you.

Another Educational Post!

Did you know you can notarize documents online from anywhere?

Remote Online Notarization allows you to:
• Meet with a notary by video (recorded session)
• Sign electronically
• Complete the process securely

This process is perfect for busy parents, professionals, and clients in remote areas of Alaska! We have done one for some remote clients of ours! Convenient at its best!

As I rebuild my notary business - a message hit me so hard that I had to share and I made it my BIO quote for the year.

"Toughness doesn't have to loud, it can be quiet & strong"

2025 was a hard year and this year 2026 we are quietly building, with persistence, resilience and with discipline. Life can be louder than your business dreams and goals but it's those who continue to show up no matter how tough the road can be - that turn out to be successful.

May 2026 be a Golden Year for All!

What does a Notary Do?

Many people think a notary’s job is “just stamping paperwork,” but it’s much more than that.

A notary public:
• Verifies identity
• Confirms willingness and awareness
• Helps deter fraud
• Ensures documents are properly executed

Please NOTE!
Notaries do not give legal advice—but we play a critical role in protecting the integrity of important documents.

This foundation is especially important when documents are used internationally or online.

If you’ve ever wondered whether you actually need a notary for a document, feel free to message us—we’re happy to educate first.

It is that time again!

Apostille Education Day!

Do your documents need to be used outside the U.S.?
If so, they may require an apostille—and proper notarization is often the first step.

An apostille is a state-issued certification that verifies a document for international use in countries that participate in the Hague Convention.

In Alaska, apostilles are issued by the Alaska Office of the Lieutenant Governor - Notary Commission & Apostille Office after the document has been correctly notarized or certified.

Incorrect notarization can lead to delays or rejection overseas.

Our role is to:
✔ Ensure your documents are notarized correctly
✔ Help determine apostille eligibility
✔ Guide you through the process with clarity

If you’re unsure whether your document needs an apostille, send us a message—we’re happy to review it with you.

The day I did this, I was lost and nervous. I ended up meeting the Secretary of the State :) She was kind and helpful. But I was supposed to mail or send in my documents via email at the time.

Throwback post back in 2022 🥰 I love being a notary and I am grateful for this journey.

What does a Notary actually do?

Many people think a notary’s job is “just stamping papers”—but the role is far more important than that.

A Notary Public is an impartial official who:

1) Verifies identity
2) Confirms understanding of the document
3) Ensures the signer is acting willingly
4) Properly completes the notarization so the document is legally valid

For documents that will be used internationally, correct notarization is often the first and most critical step.

This is where many delays and rejections happen—before an apostille even enters the picture.

ONE OF THE SERVICES WE LOVE TO PROVIDE - "APOSTILLE"

What Is an Apostille & Why Does It Matter?

"An apostille is a state-issued certification that authenticates a document for use in another country under the Hague Convention."

In Alaska, apostilles are issued by the Alaska State Secretary Office not anyone that holds a notary stamp/notary commission.

Before an apostille can be issued the following requirements must be met:

1) The document must be properly notarized by an Alaska notary or...

2) Be an eligible certified public record

This is where it gets confusing for most people and this is the most simplest way to explain it -

"The apostille issued by The Alaska State Secretary Office verifies the notary’s signature and authority, allowing the document to be accepted abroad."

Choosing an educated notary is crucial for this step because any small Incorrect notarization = rejection overseas and that will cost YOU TIME & MONEY.

With NotaRea Nexus - we take pride in the work we do. We also invest in our notary education to make sure we stay on top of the laws and regulations because they do change most of the time.

We have performed notarizations for different countries and we love doing what we do. From Marriage certificates to POA to be used in Puerto Rico! Contact us today for a free consultation.

Closing Out 2025 🤍

As we close out 2025, we want to take a moment to say thank you.

This year looked quieter on our notary page, and that was intentional. Behind the scenes, we stepped back to recalibrate, strengthen our foundation, and ensure that everything we offer moving forward is done with clarity, compliance, and purpose. Sometimes growth requires stillness before expansion.

To everyone who followed, liked, commented, shared our name, referred us, or supported us from day one — we see you, and we appreciate you more than words can express. Your support never went unnoticed, even during the quieter moments.

As we move into 2026, we are excited to share that Notarea Nexus is entering a new chapter. Alongside our notary and apostille services, we will be introducing additional services designed to meet real needs we see in our community and the industries we serve. These services are rooted in reliability, coordination, and being a trusted resource — especially when support is needed most.

This isn’t a restart. It’s a return with intention.

Thank you for being part of our journey so far. We’re looking forward to serving you in new ways and continuing to grow — together.

Here’s to what’s ahead.
