207th AVN Troop Command This is the official site of the 207th AVN Troop Command Family Readiness page.

The 1st BN 207th AVN REGT was originally constituted in April 1972 in the Alaska Army National Guard as the 1898th Aviation Company and was organized and federally recognized in June 1972 in Anchorage. In September 1979 the unit was reorganized and re-designated as Detachment 1, Headquarters Company, 207th Infantry Group. In September 1982 the unit reorganized and re-designated as the 1898th Aviat

ion Company. In June 1988 the unit expanded, reorganized as a General Support Aviation Battalion and was re-designated as the 1st Battalion of the 207th Aviation Regiment, a parent regiment under the United States Army Regimental System. Since that time elements of the unit have deployed to Guatemala, Honduras, Kosovo, Haiti, and Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation New Dawn. The Battalion transformed to an Air Assault Battalion in September 2006, its current state.
