Alaska Women for Political Action The AWPA is a multi-partisan, multi-cultural grassroots organization. Everyone is welcome to attend our meetings.

We are dedicated to increasing women’s participation in the political arena and creating a political power base designed to achieve equality for women. Through recruiting, training and financial contributions, the AWPA provides support to women candidates running for all levels of office regardless of political affiliation. The AWPA meets on the first Wednesday of every month (except Feb., July, and Dec.) off the lobby of the Centerpoint Building at 3801 Centerpoint Drive.

The Division of Elections has recently moved more than 3,000 voters to inactive status based on a review that has already been shown to include errors. If you're a citizen, this doesn't affect your eligibility — but you MUST respond to the letter to be reactivated. Voters who don't respond remain inactive and will be required to vote a questioned ballot during the election.

While the Division of Elections stated that they sent letters to those affected, don't wait to see if the post office delivers something to you. Check now!

The League of Women Voters of Alaska encourages every voter to verify their registration status today—especially naturalized citizens and anyone who has updated information with state agencies over the years.

If you don't see a record for you, contact the Division of Elections directly to confirm your citizenship and get reactivated.

Every eligible voter deserves the opportunity to cast their ballot without unnecessary obstacles. A few minutes today can help ensure your voice is heard.
