As many of us have been asked to make sacrifices over the last several months, let us take a moment to pause and remember our fallen heroes who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our Nation; to honor their loyalty, courage, and bravery, to remember that the freedoms we have are because of the sacrifices made by others. Congratulations on your retirement SGT Arthur!! Thank you for your service and we wish you the best of times with your new human.

Who's a good boy? Arthur is, and as his reward for nine years of hard work as a military police dog, he was retired on Friday to enjoy life as a pet. Arthur came to the 549th Military Working Dog Detachment at Fort Wainwright in 2013. He thrived in the community policing domain while breaking in several new handlers over the years and even deploying once to Iraq. He is now the beloved companion of Chris Boegler, the assistant business manager for Nugget Lanes and Chena Bend Golf Course, who reported as of this posting that SGT Arthur (ret.) was "doing great" and laying on his owner's bed.
