Anchorage Police Citizen Academy Alumni Association Please send photos to be posted to Jim Kaletka or Rosemary Dunn Chief Monegan wanted a corps of volunteers to assist the police department with various duties.

The idea for an alumni citizens' academy came about at the request of members of the Anchorage Police Department in 2004. After several meetings, the Anchorage Police Citizens' Alumni Academy Association was formed in 2004.

Applications for the next citizen academy are available on apcaaa.org and muni.org/apd. The academy begins September 21.

The Anchorage Police Department is seeking individuals for the next Citizen Police Academy. Download the application and return to the Anchorage Police Department front counter. All applicants will be subject to a criminal background check.

Have you seen these coffee cans at your local Kaladi Brothers Coffee? APDEA is raising money to help Sgt. Pablo Paiz, he is battling a life-threatening illness. Sgt. Paiz received a Medal of Valor in 2010 after helping to rescue victims of a plane crash in Fairview. Now he needs help. Another fundraiser, sponsored by WineStyles, will be held June 25 at the Hotel Captain Cook. Email [email protected] for tickets.

Volunteers needed: What: six road guards at Fort Richardson to support APD SWAT training. Mission will be to limit access by manning check points along the access roads.
