Yesterday, the AERC was grateful for the opportunity to host a table at the Army Heritage Cultural Festival hosted by JBER. And we were especially excited to cheer on the Simorgh Dance Collective of Alaska as a featured event performer!

In May, we celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. Check out this great article that explores the history and purpose of AAPI Heritage Month:

"Our history is also filled with incredible stories of resilience, of persistence, of determination, to fight for our basic rights," Cynthia Choi told NPR. "This is a celebration of our history, of our culture ... and all the different ways in which our community has really demonstrated that we're not only here to stay, we are a part of this fabric — a part of this country."

May marks the beginning of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. This year's theme is Advancing Leaders Through Collaboration.

Join us in honoring Fair Housing Month and celebrating the 54th anniversary of the Fair Housing Act, the landmark civil rights law that outlawed discrimination in housing transactions.
