"BLOCKADE an act or means of sealing off a place to prevent goods or people from entering or leaving:" The US has had at least 604 mass shootings so far in 2022 AND 39 IN JANUARY 2023. WHEN IS ENOUGH IS ENOUGH??!!
Newsom expressed his dismay that he had to go from one community affected by a mass shooting to another one back-to-back and advocated for stronger gun control laws. "Only in America do we see this kind of carnage, this kind of chaos, this kind of destruction of communities and lives," Newsom said. Earlier, in a moment of unfiltered emotion, Rep. Anna Eshoo, a Democrat, said the farmworkers were "killed with purpose, with intent ex*****on style, and this state and country are reeling from it."
After the briefing, Corpus didn’t speak directly about Eshoo’s comments, citing the ongoing investigation on Chunli Zhao, 66. But the sheriff did mention the need for increased awareness of mental health and wellness. "It appears this person snapped and took measures into his own hands, and unfortunately innocent lives were lost,” Corpus said. "People lost their family members. It’s time for this to stop."
ALREADY:There have been 39 mass shootings in the US so far in 2023, according to the Gun Violence Archive. The latest mass shooting in Half Moon Bay, California, left 7 people dead and 1 injured. Experts expect the statistics for 2023 to look similar to 2022 and 2021, despite recent gun reform.
Seven people were killed Monday at plant nurseries near Half Moon Bay, 30 miles south of San Francisco, days after a rampage in Southern California.
