YEAH! Youth Rising will, hire, train and support motivated young adult mentors (ages 16-24) with a supportive adult from their community to help support and gain knowledge on substance abuse, mental health, and su***de prevention.
Mentors will plan one healthy activity per month for youth to attend while providing age-appropriate mental health outreach in their communities; through school assemblies, local events, flyers and involvement in local behavioral health clinics, Tribal Court Offices, and schools.
At the end of the project year, Mentors will receive a certificate of success and, if interested and appropriate, a letter of recommendation to further pursue careers in the health field.
