While winter can be a quieter season on the land, fallen leaves often lead to some of the best views on the trail! Head to these sites for some favorite winter views, each complete with seating:

🍂 Borden's | Trek the Tamarack Trail to look all the way out to the Catskills

❄️ Overmountain | Travel the Kestrel Trail to soak up Catskill and Berkshire mountain views from the Gazebo

🍁 Drowned lands | Head up the Summit Trail to the top of Old Croken Knoll for views of surrounding farms and mountains

Deer hunting season begins today, October 1st, on select CLC lands! For this season, a limited number of hunting permits have been distributed at sections of Hand Hollow, Schor, and Overmountain.

🔶 For a safe and enjoyable experience at these sites, we highly encourage visitors to stay on trails, wear blaze orange or fluorescent pink (and consider putting gear on your dog!), and hike during the daytime.

🔶 For hunters, folks must get permission from CLC and follow the hunting rules for each site. Harvests should be reported to CLC at the end of each hunt.

Please avoid visiting Overmountain today! There are several downed trees and the Round Ball parking lot is currently inaccessible.

Stay safe, dry, and warm in the storm!

Overmountain might be calling, but please do not go! Due to the storm, there are several downed trees and the Round Ball parking lot is currently inaccessible.

CLC staff and contractors are at work now to clear the roads, but please avoid visiting Overmountain today. We hope everyone is staying warm, dry, and safe in the storm!
