Safety Vests

Free Reflective Safety Vests Available at Village Hall. The Village has received multiple reports of children and adults walking or riding bikes, e-bikes, and e-scooters in low-light conditions. To promote community safety, we are distributing free reflective safety vests at the Village Hall.
Thanks to a generous donation, these vests are available to Village residents at no cost. We have approximately 40 vests available for both children and adults. Vests will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Please stop by Village Hall to pick one up and help ensure you and your family stay visible and safe at night.

Parents Please Take Notice

Escooters & ebikes. Today one of your children could have gotten seriously injured or lost his life today. Let that sink in.
I was coming to the stop sign next to the Andaluisia Mart when a group of 3 kids, 2 on ebikes and 1 on an escooter was riding around in circles in the road by the stop sign.
The 2 kids on ebikes turned down Andalusia Road and drove to 3rd Street East where I lost sight of them. These vehicles are NOT permitted on Andalusia Road for any reason, or for any amount of time other than to cross the road.
The 3rd boy, on the escooter, turned around in another circle then proceeded to ride out directly in front of my car. If I wasn't paying attention or didn't have my foot on the break, I would have hit him. He proceeded up 2nd Street East by the school.
I do not want to be the one driving the car when a child gets killed because they don't respect the rules of the road.
With the overwelming number of complaints I receive, and the appearant lack of education these kids are getting before being let out into the world on these machines, I am tempted to petition the Village Trustees to ban these vehicles out-right, BEFORE there is a casualty. I'm sure many of our residents would support a ban.
Again, I ask, PARENTS PLEASE educate your children.

Most of you have heard what happened to Drew. But I wanted to do our part in sharing how to help. The Hawk family are residents of our village so if you can please help support them in their time of need. Our nephew Drew Hawk was seriously injured in an accident on Saturday. He faces a very long road to recovery. No family can possibly be prepared for the expenses that pile up very quickly when you are suddenly living in hospitals and on the road.

Most importantly, please continue lifting Drew and the Hawk family up in prayer! Our Lord is the great physician, and we continue to ask Him to cover Drew and his care team with His healing hands.

Finally I believe today they are starting road work on 7th Ave east just east of 3rd st east. The crew will accommodate with residents the best they can.

New "Welcome Home" Feature - Send Us Your Messages! Dear Residents,
We are excited to launch a new section in our community app called Welcome Home. This dedicated space will allow our neighborhood to celebrate and honor our returning military service members.
To respect our military families' privacy and coordinate these celebrations smoothly, I will be personally managing and uploading all the posts. I need your help to make it special!
How you can participate:
Submit a Homecoming: If your family member is returning home, please send me the details so we can feature them.
Send a Message: Send me your notes of thanks, digital cards, or welcome messages for the returning service member.
I will compile your thoughtful messages and post them in the new app section for the returning heroes and their families to see.
Please send your submissions directly to me via [email protected]. Put "Welcome Home" in the Subject line. Let’s work together to give our service members the warm welcome they deserve!
This will be an on-going project so feel free to send me your messages at any time going forward.
