๐Ÿ’œ International Overdose Awareness Day

Today, we remember those whose lives have been lost to overdose, support the families and communities affected, and stand with those on the journey toward recovery.

Substance use disorder is a medical condition, not a moral failing.

Recovery is possible.

If you or someone you know is struggling, know that help is available. Reaching out can be the first step toward healing.

Yesterday, Medshore Ambulance, a member of the Priority Ambulance family of companies, proudly celebrated 24 students as they graduated from our in-house EMT Academy and took an exciting step forward in their EMS careers!

A special congratulations goes to our class Valedictorian, Stephen Worsham, and Salutatorian, Carley Shore, for their outstanding accomplishments!

This graduation represents countless hours of learning, hands-on training and hard work. We are incredibly grateful to the South Carolina EMS Association for partnering with us to host this Academy and helping us prepare the next generation of EMS professionals.

We would also like to recognize and thank our wonderful Medshore preceptors who shared their time, knowledge and experience throughout various aspects of the Academy. Your investment in these students plays an important role in building a strong future for EMS in the communities we serve.

Thank you to William Kenley and the entire AnMed team for your continued partnership. Weโ€™re grateful for all we have accomplished together and look forward to continuing to serve our community side by side for years to come. โค๏ธ๐Ÿš‘

โš ๏ธ Dangerous summer heat continues across many of our communities this week.

As temperatures climb, remember to take extra precautions when spending time outdoors. Stay hydrated, take frequent breaks in a cool or shaded area, limit strenuous activity during the hottest parts of the day, and check in on family members, neighbors and others who may be more vulnerable to extreme heat.

Most importantly, know the signs of heat-related illness. Heat stroke is a medical emergency. If someone becomes confused, loses consciousness or shows other signs of heat stroke, call 911 immediately.

Stay cool, stay hydrated and look out for one another this week. โ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿ’ง๐Ÿš‘

๐ŸŽ’ Back to School Means Safety First!

As students head back to the classroom, let us all do our part to make the school year a safe one.

Here are a few simple reminders:
๐ŸšŒ Stop for school buses when their stop arm is extended.
๐Ÿšธ Slow down and stay alert in school zones.
๐Ÿ“ฑ Put distractions away while driving.
๐Ÿšถ Watch carefully for children crossing streets, especially near bus stops and crosswalks.
๐Ÿšฒ Remind kids to wear helmets when riding bicycles and to look both ways before crossing.

A little extra caution can help ensure every student arrives safely to and from school.

From all of us at the Priority Ambulance family of companies, we wish students, teachers, and families a safe, healthy, and successful school year!

๐Ÿšฆ Stop on Red. Save Lives.

Every day, drivers, pedestrians, bicyclists, and first responders rely on one another to make safe choices on the road. During Stop on Red Week, the Priority Ambulance family of companies is joining the effort to raise awareness about the importance of stopping at every red light.

Running a red light may save only a few seconds, but it can have life-changing consequences. Many intersection crashes happen because drivers are distracted, speeding, or trying to beat a yellow light.

Help keep our roads safer by remembering to:
๐Ÿ”ด Come to a complete stop at every red light.
๐Ÿš— Slow down as you approach intersections.
๐Ÿ“ฑ Stay focused and avoid distractions behind the wheel.
๐Ÿšธ Watch for pedestrians and bicyclists before proceeding.
๐Ÿšฆ Never rush through a yellow light if it is safe to stop.

Whether you're heading to work, driving your family, or responding to an emergency, making safe choices at intersections helps protect everyone on the road.

Together, we can help prevent crashes and make our communities safer.
