🇺🇸 Here's an update to last night's McDonald County election results reporting...

Preliminary unofficial final results were posted a little after 1 am this morning as election workers meticulously verified write-in candidate votes.

Final official numbers won't be posted until after they are verified on Friday, November 11 at 1 pm.

It appears - looking at those unofficial results -overall voter turnout across McDonald County was a little under 42% with the highest percentage occurring in the Pineville East/West precinct with 49.9% voter turnout.

You can see more of those percentages and all the unofficial results at the link below. ⬇️

Jeremy Kelly West and his crew at Whitewater Hollow Farms in Oklahoma have bent over backward to make sure we had strawberries if our festival had happened. We encourage you to check out their page and visit their farm. They are willing to bring strawberries to Anderson on Sunday if they get enough orders. There is a post on the Citizens of Anderson, MO page looking for orders. You can also message the farm from their page as well. They'll bring some of their delicious berries right to Anderson if they get enough orders. Be sure to tell them thanks for helping make Anderson a better place to live, work & play!

After consulting with the National Weather Service Forecast Office in Springfield, we feel there will be too great a chance of rain to make the Berries, Bluegrass, and BBQ Festival a successful event.
We are CANCELING the festival.
We hate to do this, but we feel it is in the best interests of our vendors, bands, and visitors.
There is no reschedule date planned.
If we decide to put something together we will inform everyone on our social pages.
Thanks so much for understanding.😭🍓

The Anderson and McDonald County communities have lost a great friend and supporter. Kevin Wilson was always eager to help the Anderson Betterment Club promote our efforts to help businesses and people. He was a regular at our club meetings throughout the years and offered great insight and support. He was one of the "behind the scenes" workers. When we needed a problem solved, we knew we could call Kevin and he would help. Anderson is a better place to live, work & play in part because of the things Kevin did. He will be greatly missed. Please keep the Wilson family in your thoughts and prayers.

Kevin Wilson, 62, Neosho, entered the gates of heaven on June 8, 2021, surrounded by his loving family, following a lengthy illness. Kevin was born September 24, 1958 in Neosho, one of two children to Bill and Earlene Chrisco Wilson. He graduated from Neosho High School in 1976 and was

Berries, Bluegrass & BBQ Festival May 22nd in Anderson, Mo
Want to give the Anderson Betterment Club a huge thank you for letting us be apart of thier event.
We love being apart of our community. We maybe from Pineville but McDonald County is our home.
We loved the event and hope to be apart of the upcoming ones. Thank you for the strawberries, bluegrass, and fun.

I took my Grandkids down to Anderson Beach today and we had to leave after only 5 minutes because of the stench from human excrement! If we are going to name the place why can't there be out houses down there so people do not use the bushes..I cannot imagine what it will smell like when it gets hot!!!! It's a shame!!
🌞🌞Lots of new and used plus-size & kids & medium mens clothes & shoes knick knacks at 503 W 3rd St.🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Pretty sad when you look at our basketball court!! Thinks it’s bout time to take a little pride in our court and ball fields.. there’s one goal at our basketball court the other is laying on the ground outside the fence trash every where pretty pitiful! I’m all bout our kids and our city needs to step up and do the same! Pride don’t cost nothing and the rewards are endless!! I have bought nets the last two years and put on the goals.. every time me and Devin go up there we pick up trash for at least 30 minutes! Maybe we need a court in town.. hell I will furnish the materials and labor to pour a slab if we can get the city to help.. we used to have a mayor that cared bout the kids of our small town, as a matter of fact the park is named after him! All you city employees it don’t take no time at all to drive by our court and ball fields and check them out and pick up trash and do a little something for our kids!! Thank you to all the parents that help out every time you go there and make our little town a better place!! God bless and have a great day!
Does anyone know when the Anderson Christmas parade is? Any info so people can be planning to participate??

TO THE MAN THAT SAVED MY SON'S LIFE (at the festival on Saturday):

I don't know your name, but my son's name is Austin Stevens.

I've replayed the event over and over in my head, but until that evening, I hadn't really been able to emotionally process what happened and I was a mess as I wrote this (I posted this initially on the festival's event page). As I tucked Austin, and my other kids into bed that evening, I was thanking the Lord over and over that I was able to give him hugs and kisses in his bed.

He was trying to get my other son's shoe that was floating away, but the current took him past where he could reach. I got up and started running when I saw him reaching into deeper water. Austin isn't a strong swimmer, but he was so strong, brave, and calm as he did all that he could to keep himself above the water. You somehow jumped what seemed like 20 feet into the river to save him before I even got to the edge. Fully clothed, you jumped in the river to save my son! You then took him to the bank and walked out like it was nothing. Let me tell you, it was something! You saved my little boy! YOU are a HERO! I thank the Lord for you, and your immediate response.

I also want to thank the girls that ended up retreiving the shoe. I didn't care about it, but you cared enough to retreive it from the river. I didn't express my thankfulness enough because I was so shaken up from Austin almost drowning.

If anyone knows the man that saved my son, please, either tag him, or let me know his info. I want to bless him and his family for saving mine.
Just got word that has been cancelled this weekend. 😟
