🐾 Calling All Local Businesses & Property Managers! 🐾

The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit is looking for local partners willing to volunteer their space to help our K9 teams train after hours.

We’re seeking access to:
🐾Warehouses
🐾Large office spaces
🐾Commercial buildings
🐾Vacant or unused properties

These environments allow our K9s to safely and effectively train in real-world scenarios, including suspect searches, narcotics detection, and more. This training is critical to keeping our deputies, K9s, and community safe.

If you own or manage a property and would like to support the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit, we’d love to hear from you.

***Honoring K9 Roscoe***

Five years have passed since K9 Roscoe was killed in the line of duty in Anderson County.
On August 12, 2020, an unfortunate incident involving two suspects led to the four legged hero passing away.

Our K9 Unit says Roscoe was nationally certified in narcotic detection, criminal apprehension and tracking.
We are grateful to K9 Roscoe, who was beloved by so many while serving the community loyally.

Meet K-9 Rollo!

The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit has a new addition – K-9 Rollo! Rollo is a 1.5 year old Belgian Malinois from the Netherlands. He has been assigned to work with our K-9 handler, Master Deputy Timothy McCarley. Rollo will specialize in apprehensions and working with warrant services. However, Rollo will also be used in narcotic detection.

Rollo was named after a heroic WW2 Military Working Dog for the Marine Corp. Both Rolo and his handler in the war, Private First Class Friedrich, were killed in action on Bougainville Island in the Solomon Islands. But – if you were to ask Master Deputy McCarley’s daughter who Rollo is named after, he is named after the candy!

Rollo was kindly donated to our agency! His favorite toy is his ball on a rope tug toy. He enjoys fetching it and playing tug of war.

We look forward to working with Rollo for many years at our agency!

***K9 HANDLER OF THE YEAR*** 🐕

The award is in! Help us congratulate our “2024 K9 Handler of the Year,” Master Deputy Darius Foster!!

Master Deputy Foster and K9 Chapo make a great dynamic duo as they’ve earned the highest number of K9 usages throughout the year, executing 6 apprehensions, 62 non-bite apprehensions, and contributed to multiple felony drug cases.
Some of the agency’s most dangerous and urgent calls were answered by the pair, including to domestic violence and burglary calls that took a turn.
Thanks to Master Deputy Foster and K9 Chapo’s teamwork, skills and quick thinking, several dangerous suspects are now off the streets.
Congratulations!!

***Thank you for your Service, K9 Diesel*** 🐕

We’ll take it from here, K9 Diesel! Thank you for unwavering loyalty and dedication to the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office.
At 7 years old, the agency and Diesel’s handler and family had to say goodbye to this German Shepard as he was laid to rest peacefully.
Diesel had a tremendous career with 260 deployments, 32 apprehensions, 298 suspect surrenders, 38 Kilos of Co***ne confiscated and more than $245,000 seized.
Anderson County is safer because of Master Deputy McCarley and K9 Diesel serving as a dynamic duo!
You were truly one of the best.
Rest in Peace K9 Diesel.
