As we observe Spring Break, we would like to recognize the exceptional dedication of our Assistant Principal at AMS, Mrs. McNeely. We are truly fortunate to have her. She consistently offers her expertise, a helping hand, a listening ear, and support to everyone. She is a strong educator leading the 'Be The Change' initiative.

REGISTRATION OPEN: Ascend Summer Trips

Ascend Wilderness Experience is excited to announce that registration is now open for ALL of Ascend’s teen, youth, and adult wilderness trips, with a quick turnaround for two early-season opportunities over Memorial Day and into the first week of June.

Kicking things off is our Teen Marble Mountains Stewardship Trip this Memorial Weekend (May 23–25), where 12–15 teen interns will rehabilitate the Let’Er Buck and Stanshaw trails within the McCash Fire footprint. This important work will prepare the trails for stock access, supporting continued restoration efforts in partnership with Six Rivers National Forest staff and the Bigfoot Trail Alliance. This trip is a catered car-camping style trip.

Trips are free, provide everything necessary, including gear, food, transportation, and trained guidance. Teen internships offer resume-building skills alongside peers and an appreciation stipend. Spaces are limited for both trips, and early registration is strongly encouraged.

The Color Run was a truly memorable event. We would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to Ms. Spellman and all staff members, including substitutes, and DJ Chad for creating an electrifying atmosphere with music. The kids had an amazing time. The event ended on a delightful note, courtesy of Ms. McNeely and Ms. Molly, who offered snowcones. We hope all students and families have a refreshing Spring Break.

Lunch at AMS is about more than just a meal.

It’s time to refuel with wholesome, nutritious food, catch up with friends, and enjoy a break in the day.

We’re proud to serve our students meals made with whole foods and even prouder of the energy and connection we see around these tables every day. 🍎🥪🐾

We are so lucky to have APD and their support! Feel free to join us on Friday at our Color Run!

Full circle moments like this are one of the things that make AMS so special. 🐾💙

Our Athletic Director, Cheridan Hawkins, once walked these same halls as an AMS student.

Now she’s back, pouring into the next generation and working every day to be the change in Cougar athletics.

We’re proud of leaders who know this community, love it, and give back to it.

A heartwarming moment... students have chosen to read a beloved book from their elementary school days to one another during lunch. Can anyone guess which one? Clifford, The Big Red Dog. Wishing these precious moments last a little longer.
