🚨 I'VE BEEN SERVED! 🚨🔥

I never thought I’d see the day I got a warrant, but apparently my work keeping our community safe has landed me in some serious trouble! 😂

I'm Chief Steve Lowe, aka The Firebreak Bandit, and my charges are:

🚒 Suppressing Youth Firesetting in the First Degree
🔥 Playing With Fire Prevention and Winning

As Chief of Anderson Fire Protection District, I guess I've been caught doing what I do best—preventing fires, keeping kids safe, and helping protect our community. 🔥👨‍🚒

Now I've been officially served my warrant, and there's only one way I can get out...

I'm participating in Youth Options Shasta's Locked Up for Youth fundraiser, where community members are “arrested” for doing good and must raise bail to earn their freedom.

Every donation helps Youth Options Shasta provide resources, prevention programs, and positive opportunities for local youth, including the local youth fire setter prevention and intervention program. ❤️

🚒❤️ What a fantastic evening at National Night Out!

Thank you to everyone who joined us at Anderson River Park to connect with your local first responder! We always enjoy meeting families, sharing our engines and talking fire prevention.

A big thank you to the Anderson Police Department, our fellow public safety agencies, community partners, volunteers, sponsors, and everyone who helped make the event such a success.

🏆 We’re honored to have won this year’s Grocery Outlet Battle of the Badges! Thanks to Grocery Outlet’s generous $1,000 donation, we were proud to select Youth Options Shasta as this year’s recipient, supporting the incredible work they do for local youth.

One of our favorite community events is coming up Tuesday, August 4th at Anderson River Park. Bring your family, friends and neighbors and join us for National Night Out and Battle of the Badges.

Our wildland engine and crew responded yesterday to a grass fire along Dersch Road east of Deschutes Road. The fire was caused by a vehicle towing a trailer that was not properly secured, allowing it to create sparks as it traveled along the roadway. Thanks to the quick response and aggressive fire suppression the fire was contained.

This incident serves as an important reminder to always secure safety chains, properly hitch and secure trailers, and inspect your brakes, tires, wheels, bearings, and catalytic converter. Taking a few minutes to perform these safety checks can help prevent roadside fires and protect lives and property.

Since Saturday evening, we’ve been providing water tender support to the Brook Fire in the Bella Vista area of Shasta County. As of this morning, containment is over 50% with Cal Fire reporting that personnel continue to strengthen control lines and mop up the fire perimeter.

Join the Anderson Fire Protection District, the Anderson Police Department, and many of our community partners on Tuesday, August 4 at the Anderson River Park Splash Pad for an evening of fun, connection, and community.

Come meet your local firefighters, explore our fire engines, learn about fire safety, and enjoy a great evening with family, friends, and neighbors. There will be food trucks, demonstrations, activities for all ages, and plenty of opportunities to connect with the people who serve our community every day.

We believe strong communities are built through strong relationships, and National Night Out is a wonderful opportunity to get to know one another outside of an emergency.
