He attended Meadowbrook Elementary, South Side Junior High, and graduated from Madison Heights High School in 1969. After high school, Greg graduated from Anderson College (now University) in 1973 with a degree in Business Administration and Sociology. Greg's interest in politics and government started very early in life. He turned his passion for politics into action when he was elected to the An

derson City Council in 1979 and served four terms representing Anderson’s south side. During that time, Greg Graham championed drainage relief which resulted in the construction of the south side storm water sewer system which brought drainage relief to hundreds of his constituents. Greg also campaigned for and accomplished the stationing of an emergency ambulance at Anderson's south side fire station on 53rd Street which has reduced ambulance response times to residents. The placement of the emergency ambulance on 53rd street was accomplished with cooperation from Anderson's Mayor Tom McMahan and past Fire Chief Tim Moore. Greg also pushed for neighborhood sidewalks leading to Madison Heights High School (now Anderson High School) and to Southview Elementary School which enhanced the safety of the students. Water line expansions in his district brought clean drinking water to those areas. Constituent service was always a top priority to Greg Graham and his votes on the Council consistently showed strong support for public safety. After being appointed by past Mayor Kris Ockomon as Chairman of the Board of Public Works, he served during the deepest recession since the Great Depression. Despite the difficulty of the recession, the following was accomplished:
• New water wells were drilled
• Two million water tower was constructed in the Flagship Industrial Park
• High pressure sewer system was built from the Flagship Industrial Park to the Water Pollution Plant
• Anderson had the biggest one year road paving and maintenance programs in the history of the City

Despite enormous financial difficulties, the city of Anderson budget was balanced using a team approach to the problem. Economic development / jobs
