Join Lake Hartwell Partners for Clean Water for their annual meeting on November 18th! The discussion will be around the recent Harmful Algal Blooms and the overall protection of Lake Hartwell.

05/01/2025

The SC Department of Environmental Services (SCDES) received several complaints this week regarding a potential harmful algal bloom in Lake Hartwell. We understand that many residents may have concerns about the safety of our drinking water, and we want to assure our community that the drinking water remains safe and unaffected by the presence of algae in the lake. Our water treatment facility uses ozone treatment technology, which is effective in removing algal-related compounds and taste and odor that can result from algal blooms. We remain committed to delivering the highest quality water to our customers every day. If you have any questions or would like more information about our water treatment process, please don’t hesitate to contact us or visit our website.
