The Republican convention process is where grassroots conservatives come together to shape the future of the partyโand one of its most important outcomes is updating the Republican Party of Texasโ (RPT) Platform. This platform is more than just a document; itโs a living, evolving statement of the values, priorities, and policy goals that unite Republicans across the Lone Star State. In short, it defines what it means to be a Texas Republican.
Every two years, the platform is refined through the resolution process. It begins at local Precinct Conventions, moves through County Conventions, and ultimately reaches the State Convention, where the final platform is adopted. Along the way, grassroots activists from across Texas submit resolutions on the issues they care about mostโworking together to persuade fellow Republicans and shape the direction of the party.
If you want a voice in defining the future of the Republican Party in Texas, this is your opportunity. Join the Grimes County Republican Party for the Precinct & County Conventions on March 28, 2026, at 9:00 AM at the Grimes County Business & Justice Center in Anderson, Texas.
You can also submit your own resolutions for considerationโbut the first step is understanding the current platform. Explore it here:
