This has infuriated me since the day the top "leadership" of the GOP did exactly what State Rep. Jay Kilmartin said. SABOTOGED.
And establishment people shade those who "think for myself" and "never cower before any master, save my God." The political truth must be told or we as a Republican Party will never advance our principles and platform successfully.
Today, during Senator Ron Johnson's hearing, he asked Dr. Anthony Fauci a question that many Americans have been asking for years:
"To what extent were you involved in sabotaging Hydroxychloroquine [and] Ivermectin?"
Hearing that immediately reminded me of what happened right here in South Carolina.
My Ivermectin bill passed the House by an overwhelming 100-9 vote. Then, just weeks later, a handful of legislators reversed course and killed it. The bill didn't change. The politics did.
The people who lost weren't politicians. They were South Carolinians—working families, seniors, and those living with chronic illnesses who simply wanted the freedom to discuss an affordable treatment option with their physician.
I haven't given up. With principled Republicans and the support of the people of South Carolina, I believe we can get this bill across the finish line next year.
COVID taught us many lessons. One of the most important is this: Government should never stand between patients and their physicians when it comes to lawful treatment options. I will continue fighting to protect that freedom.
