🚨 Meet Madi – Supporting MCCD 🚨

When calling our non-emergency line, you may be assisted by Madi-a tool that helps manage routine calls so our dispatchers can stay focused on emergencies.

👉 What this means:
🔴 911 calls are always answered by a live dispatcher
🟡 Non-emergency calls may be assisted by Madi

Madi helps gather information and handle routine requests. If a call requires a dispatcher at any time, it is immediately transferred to a live person.

Callers can speak naturally-just explain what you need, as you normally would.

🚫 This is only used on non-emergency lines—there is no automation on 9-1-1 calls.

This allows our team to respond more quickly to emergencies while continuing to provide reliable service for all calls.

Madi is here to support our dispatchers—not replace them.

Yesterday, we were honored to take part in the 5th Annual Prayer for Peace in recognition of National Crime Victims’ Rights Week.

We could not have asked for a more beautiful day to gather in remembrance, as we were blessed with blue skies and sunshine.

Thank you to the elected officials, prosecutors, community members, law enforcement officers, survivors, and advocates who came together to honor loved ones and support one another.

It is important that we continue to remember those whose lives were lost, provide a safe space for families to share their stories, and promote hope, healing, and unity throughout our community. 💙

We had a little fun during National Crime Victims’ Rights Week with our Victim Services Bingo! 💙

Each space on the card represented real services our team provides to support victims and survivors—from crisis intervention and safety planning to court accompaniment, follow-up support, and referrals.

Thank you to everyone who participated and helped recognize the many ways victim advocacy makes a difference every day.

Please join us this afternoon ❤️

Meet Jaime 💙

Jaime is the Program Coordinator and has been with the department for 17 years, serving as the coordinator for the past 9 years. Through her leadership, compassion, and dedication, she has helped guide and grow victim services within our community.

When asked what she loves most about this work, Jaime shared:

“Being able to provide emotional support to crime victims—whether it’s on scene, at the hospital, in the courtroom, or at the police station. There is something extremely special and humbling about being able to connect with victims during their trauma and help them figure out what the next steps are. I also enjoy being part of a program that helps bridge the gap between law enforcement and victims, ensuring they feel heard, supported, and informed throughout the process.”

In her free time, Jaime enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her doodles. She also enjoys trying new restaurants, watching documentaries, reading, and playing word games.

Jaime’s favorite quote:
“Be an encourager. The world has plenty of critics already.” – Dave Willis 💙

We are grateful for Jaime’s leadership and the compassion she brings to victims, survivors, and our community each day.

Meet Daisy 💙🐾

Daisy is our certified therapy dog who brings comfort, calm, and connection to those we serve. She not only supports members of our community, but also provides encouragement and comfort to our first responders after difficult calls.

Her favorite parts of the job are helping those in need… and, of course, the belly rubs. 💙

Sometimes healing has four paws.

Meet Chrissy 💙

Chrissy has been with our program for four years after transitioning from a 23-year career in dispatch. She brings strong communication and active listening skills that are critical when supporting individuals through difficult situations. Chrissy is also trauma-informed and cares deeply about helping those she works with.

When asked what she loves most about this work, Chrissy shared:

“Being there for people when their world feels like it’s falling apart. I don’t try to fix everything—I just show up, listen, and help them find their footing again. In moments where they may feel powerless, I get to remind them they still have a voice and choices. That matters to me.”

In her free time, Chrissy enjoys keeping things simple—spending time with family, listening to music (especially rock, blues, and southern rock), and getting away when she can, preferably somewhere warm. She also values personal growth and spends time reflecting while working to become a more grounded version of herself.

Chrissy’s favorite quote:
“The best way out is always through.” – Robert Frost 💙

We are grateful to have Chrissy as part of our team and appreciate the compassion, wisdom, and support she brings to victim services each day.

Meet Maddie Sexton 💙

Maddie is one of our newer Victim Assistance providers and has been with our program for nearly one year. Since joining our team, she has already made a meaningful impact through her compassion and dedication to helping others.

When asked what she loves most about this work, Maddie shared: “The opportunity to be there for people when they need it most and to help create a sense of support, safety, and understanding. It’s incredibly meaningful and continues to shape both my personal and professional growth.”

Maddie is currently working toward her Master’s in Social Work with a focus on youth, families, and children.

Outside of work, Maddie has a passion for photography and enjoys spending time with her cats and the people she cares about most.

Maddie’s favorite quote:
“The sun doesn’t care if the grass doesn’t appreciate its rays. It just keeps on shining.” ☀️

We are grateful to have Maddie as part of our team and appreciate the care and positivity she brings to victim services every day.

National Crime Victims’ Rights Week (NCVRW) is observed each April and was established in 1981 by President Ronald Reagan to honor crime victims, raise awareness, and promote victims’ rights and available services.

Led annually by the Office for Victims of Crime, this week recognizes the progress of the victims’ rights movement while continuing to advocate for dignity, support, and justice for all victims and survivors. 💙

This year’s theme reminds us to Listen. Act. Advocate. Protect victims, serve communities.
