US Airlift Command is proud to announce the appointment of Board Member Jason Spears to the Huntington Tri-State Airport Authority Board, in Huntington, West Virginia
In the mountains of West Virginia, aviation is more than convenience—it is a lifeline. From search and rescue operations to disaster response and critical access in remote areas, the ability to launch, coordinate, and sustain air missions can mean the difference between life and death. This need is one of the main driving factors in our expansion into the Mountain State.
Huntington Tri-State Airport (KHTS) plays a vital role in that mission. As a regional hub, it supports not only economic growth, but also emergency response capabilities that serve communities across the Tri-State and into the mountainous regions of WV.
For Jason, this appointment is both professional and personal. KHTS is where his aviation journey began at just 12 years old in a Cessna 150—an experience that ultimately led to a lifelong commitment to aviation and service.
His leadership will help ensure that critical infrastructure remains strong, accessible, and ready to support life-saving missions when they are needed most.
At US Airlift Command, we know that preparation, access, and strong partnerships save lives. We look forward to continuing that mission alongside leaders committed to keeping West Virginia connected—especially when it matters most.
