Tonight, on NICOLE IN ALL KAPS LIVE,
we’ve got FOUR+ topics that deserve a much closer look.

GYPSY ASPHALT SCAM — What happened, how these paving operations work, the red flags homeowners should know, and what I’ve learned while digging into the people and companies involved.

HAZMAT 101 — What actually happens when hazardous materials are released into a community? Who is responsible for responding? Who is supposed to notify nearby residents? And what happens when people living near the incident are left asking questions weeks later?

ERIN BROCKOVICH Post about our WATER — Erin Brockovich is once again sounding the alarm about water, contamination, environmental accountability, and the consequences communities can face when problems are ignored. We’re going to talk about her latest article and why these conversations hit especially close to home right now.

MADISON COUNTY PARKS BOARD — We’re taking a closer look at what’s happening with the Parks Board, how decisions are being made, and why the public should be paying attention.

This show is about asking questions, following the paper trail, documenting what happened, and helping people understand how local government, environmental oversight, and public safety systems are SUPPOSED to work.

 Bring your questions.
 Bring your receipts.
And as always… stay ON SWIVEL!

THE VETERANS COFFEE CLUB PODCAST — WHEN DISASTER STRIKES… THE VULTURES COME OUT FLOODAGEDDON, HAZMAT & THE VULTURES: WHEN DISASTER COMES KNOCKING TWICE” and “DISASTER AFTER THE DISASTER: SCAMMERS, HAZMAT & SLEEPING WITH ONE EYE OPEN.”

What happens when tragedy strikes — and instead of helping, somebody sees an opportunity to take advantage of you?

This week, I’m talking about what happened after FLOODAGEDDON: the attempted paving scam, the pressure, the chaos, and what it feels like trying to protect your home while your entire community is already dealing with a disaster.

But that isn’t the only thing keeping me awake.

I’m also living close to an ongoing hazmat situation near the White River, with containers and environmental concerns close to home, strange odors being reported, neighbors still using well water, and a whole lot of unanswered questions.

I haven’t been sleeping. The stress has triggered my PTSD, and somehow everybody expects me to remain perfectly calm while I’m wondering what my family and neighbors may be exposed to.

So we’re going there.

 Disaster profiteering
 Hazmat concerns near home
 The aftermath of FLOODAGEDDON
The scam attempt that came knocking
PTSD, veterans, and what prolonged crisis actually does to people
And the biggest question: WHO IS SUPPOSED TO PROTECT PEOPLE WHEN EVERYTHING STARTS GOING WRONG AT ONCE?

This week on The Veterans Coffee Club Podcast — because sometimes surviving the disaster is only the beginning.

Mother Nature made it rain — but who got help, who got left behind, and where are the Rainy-Day Funds?

The flood may be over, but the disaster it left behind ISN’T.

Tonight, on NICOLE in ALL KAPS, we’re diving into what’s been happening behind the scenes of the Madison County Madness and the aftermath of Floodageddon.

More than two weeks after the water came rushing through Anderson, families are still dealing with flood-damaged homes, backed-up drainage and sewage, destroyed belongings, cleanup, mold concerns, unanswered phone calls, and the exhausting process of trying to figure out who is actually supposed to help them.

Volunteers showed up. Organizations deployed. Community members stepped forward.

But why was it so difficult for some of the people who needed help the most to actually FIND that help?

Why did residents struggle to get calls returned?

Why did it sometimes feel like who you knew mattered more than how badly you needed help?

And now that mobile outreach units are finally moving through affected neighborhoods more than two weeks later, another question has to be asked:

WHAT TOOK SO LONG?

Meanwhile, Izzy, myself, volunteers, and other boots-on-the-ground community members have spent the past two weeks going directly into neighborhoods, gathering information, identifying properties still needing assistance, connecting people with resources, and trying to make sure nobody disappears through the cracks.

Tonight we're talking about:

 Floodageddon and its aftermath

 Rainy-Day Funds — it's raining, so where's the money?

Families still living with flood damage

Volunteers, resources & the coordination breakdown

Unanswered calls and residents struggling to find help

 Drainage, sewage, infrastructure & preparedness

Where public recovery dollars are going

Operation: There Is No Place Like Home

And the biggest question of all...

WHAT NOW?!

Because Mother Nature caused the storm.

But recovery is a human responsibility.

No political connections required.

No special list required.

No knowing the “right people” required.

The people who were hurt the worst should have been FIRST IN LINE — not last to be found.

Sometimes, when everything around you looks like destructive chaos, ordinary people have to become the beacon of hope their neighbors are looking for.

That is what this community has been doing.

NO FAMILY LEFT BEHIND.
NO PERSON LEFT BEHIND.
NO PROPERTY LEFT BEHIND.
NO ONE LEFT BEHIND.

 The storm passed.
 The water went down.
 The questions are flooding in.

And the disaster it left behind?

THAT ISN’T OVER.

OPERATION: THERE IS NO PLACE LIKE HOME

 No family left behind.
 No person left behind.
 No property forgotten.
No neighbor overlooked.

Mobile Pop-Up HUB locations will be announced.

THE VETERANS COFFEE CLUB PODCAST — EP. #003
 THE PERFECT STORM: FLOODAGEDDON

Indiana got absolutely hammered last week.

In Episode #003 of The Veterans Coffee Club Podcast, we’re talking about the “Perfect Storm” — the flooding that knocked out internet and utilities, damaged homes, displaced families, and left neighborhoods trying to figure out what comes next.

This episode is about what happened after the cameras, announcements, and official talking points — from the people who were actually there.

 BOOTS ON THE GROUND
We’ll talk about what residents experienced, what volunteers encountered, what people still need, and what recovery actually looks like street by street.

 POSSIBLE SPECIAL GUESTS:
Flood victims and residents sharing their own firsthand experiences from the hardest-hit areas.

 THE AFTERMATH
Floodwater. Property destruction. Cleanup. Communication failures. Internet outages. Resource problems. And communities trying to recover from a disaster that changed lives in a matter of hours.

 AND THEN CAME THE SCAMMERS…

Nicole became one of the early targets of an alleged storm-related asphalt scheme after workers showed up following the disaster.

What started as a paving conversation quickly escalated into pressure and proposed charges that climbed as high as approximately $25,000.

We’ll break down what happened, the tactics used, the warning signs residents should watch for, and why disaster victims need to be especially cautious when unsolicited contractors suddenly appear promising repairs — or claiming someone else will reimburse the bill.

This one is part disaster story, part community debrief, part consumer warning.

 Grab your coffee.

EPISODE #007 — THE PERFECT STORM
OPERATION: THERE IS NO PLACE LIKE HOME!

Boots on the Ground: The Storm of the Century & the Aftermath

What happens when the water rises, neighborhoods are overwhelmed, families lose everything, and the real work begins after the storm moves out?

In Episode #007, we are talking about The Perfect Storm that slammed our community and the aftermath we have witnessed firsthand — not from behind a desk, but boots on the ground.

We’ll talk about what happened before, during, and after the flood, what residents experienced in some of the hardest-hit areas, the challenges families are still facing, and why recovery cannot stop when the headlines disappear.

We’re also introducing:

OPERATION: THERE IS NO PLACE LIKE HOME!

A grassroots effort focused on making sure:

 No family gets left behind.
 No person gets overlooked.
 No property gets forgotten.
No neighbor has to navigate recovery alone.

From cleanup and heavy lifting to documenting damages, finding resources, filling out paperwork, connecting volunteers, identifying unmet needs, and simply listening to people who need somebody to show up — this is about people helping people.

We’ll share stories from the ground, discuss what worked, what didn’t, what still needs to happen, and what our community can do next.

Because the storm may have passed...

BUT THE AFTERMATH IS JUST BEGINNING.

 Recover. Rebuild. Restore. Rise Together.

There’s no place like HOME.
