Well done, Tenth Street students and families! We reached a 98% school-wide attendance rate today!

Dear Tenth Street Families,

As we approach Teacher Appreciation Week next week, we want to take a moment to recognize and celebrate the incredible individuals who serve our students each day.

This week is an opportunity to intentionally pause and show appreciation for the dedication, commitment, and care our staff pours into their work. While academics are a central focus, our teachers and staff also invest deeply in the overall well-being of each child—supporting their social, emotional, and personal growth every single day.

This work is not always easy. In many classrooms, one teacher is responsible for 25 students, each with unique personalities, needs, and experiences. As parents and guardians, you understand how challenging it can be to meet the needs of even a few children at once—our staff does this daily with patience, empathy, and consistency.

We also want to recognize that it takes an entire team to support a school. Our cafeteria staff, along with all support staff, play a vital role in creating a safe, welcoming, and nurturing environment for our students. Every role within a school requires empathy, compassion, and a strong commitment to children.

If you are able, we encourage you to join us in showing appreciation—whether through a kind note, a message, or simply taking a moment to say “thank you.” These gestures go a long way in recognizing the meaningful work happening each day.

Anderson Community Schools will operate on a Two Hour Delay schedule today, Tuesday, April 28, 2026. This delay is needed to address storm damage.

Just a friendly reminder that the book fair is happening this week.
Attached is our library schedule. There will also be some open time to shop after your child's shopping day, but students will have the most time to shop on their scheduled day. Each purchase you make helps earn books for our school library. Your child may shop with cash or you can set up an ewallet with a debit card or credit card if you prefer. Just click on the GET STARTED tab under ewallets on our fair page listed here:

Just another friendly reminder that tomorrow, April 16, 2026, is the 26/27 Kindergarten Registration from 4 PM to 6 PM here at Tenth Street Elementary School. Please enter through Door 5, located at the back west end of the building.

Here are some reminders

- Only the custodial parent or guardian can register students.
- The student must have turned 5 before August 1st.
- A copy of the student's Birth Certificate
- A copy of the student's shot records
- Proof of address that you live in the Tenth Street district.
- Please keep in mind that even though your child's daycare is in our district, an interschool transfer form must be completed for approval. This is not a guarantee due to class sizes.

Again, we look forward to seeing our newcomers and families tomorrow.
