When it all adds up, Anoka-Hennepin Schools staff members are ONE of the many reasons that students achieve, delivering on our promise to educate each student for success.

The connections district staff make with students, families and community members make all the difference, and the work they do today will matter now and well into the future.

May 4-8, 2026 is being celebrated as Employee Appreciation Week across the school district. Thank you for supporting Anoka-Hennepin Schools in recognizing and celebrating the impact staff members make today, and every day.

May 4-8, 2026 is being celebrated as Employee Appreciation Week across the school district, recognizing the significant impact that staff at all sites make for students. You can join us in honoring, recognizing and celebrating school district staff! Consider a few ideas to show your appreciation:

• Encourage your student to share a handwritten note of appreciation for a staff member that impacts their days at school.

• Consider sending a staff member a simple email message to let them know that their work and the connections they make with your student matters.

• Share a smile, and/or tell a staff member how they make a difference for your student or your family.

• Get involved in your school’s Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) and see if there are ways you can volunteer or donate as a token of appreciation.

Each day, approximately 8,000 Anoka-Hennepin Schools staff members work to make an impact on nearly 37,000 students! There are a lot of numbers that go into the work that is accomplished across the district:

•Supporting learning at 47 schools.
•Serving 13 communities with over 253,222 residents.
•Over 3,290 graduated in 2025.
•27,500 lunches served daily.
•35,000 miles traveled by school transportation each day.

…are just some of the MANY numbers we have been accounting for.

Our school district may have the most students, or the most staff - but only ONE number matters: Anoka-Hennepin Schools staff members are the ONE that prepare students for life.

Anoka-Hennepin has a rich history of science fairs dating back to the late 1960s, and traditionally hosts a K-12 Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Fair as an opportunity for students at all grade levels to present findings on research projects and experimentation they’ve completed to the general public.

This year’s districtwide STEM Fair was held Saturday, Feb. 21 at Blaine High School, featuring over 240 projects from a handful of elementary school students that participated along with many enthusiastic middle and high school students who opted to immerse themselves in an advanced opportunity to study Science and STEM topics of their choice this school year. The STEM Fair provides students an experience to improve their critical thinking, public speaking and research skills. Awards were presented to ten students in five different categories; view the list of award winners and see more photos from the event: https://www.ahschools.us/about/news/article/~board/news/post/students-present-projects-exhibiting-research-data-and-creativity-at-districtwide-stem-fair
