On June 17th, 1775, Andover residents climbed to the top of Holt Hill to watch the Battle of Bunker Hill unfold from afar. Come commemorate this pivotal moment in the history of America.

Join us on Wednesday, June 17 at 4:00 PM for a Bunker Hill Day walk up Holt Hill. The event will provide an opportunity to reflect on Andover’s connection to the opening chapters of the American Revolution and take in the same hilltop view that drew townspeople 251 years ago.

The walk will begin at 34 Prospect Road. Parking is limited, so please consider carpooling. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable shoes and bring water.

Despite having to modify planned events due to rainy weather, the Town of Andover was honored to welcome residents to cemeteries across Andover throughout the morning and to WWI Memorial Auditorium for Memorial Day ceremonies held in tribute to the men and women who paid the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

The Town thanks all who joined in these observances and helped ensure that the meaning and importance of Memorial Day remained at the forefront of today’s events. We also extend our gratitude to the Patriotic Holiday Committee, Director of Veterans Services Mark Comeiro, and American Legion Post 8 for their efforts to make today's events possible.
