A single pair of bluebirds and their nestlings can eat up to 2,000 insects in one day, making them a favorite bird species among farmers and gardeners.

Bluebirds cannot drill their own holes, so they rely on abandoned woodpecker nests or artificial nest boxes. This is why people’s efforts to put up and maintain bluebird boxes is so important for their conservation and recovery. 💙🐦

Wargo’s resident sandhill crane couple now have two colts! They’re cute but will grow fast. Within eight hours of hatching the colts were out of the nest roaming around. They’ll grow to the size of their parents in a few months. The family will stay together up to 10 months before the young take off to start their own family. During that time, the parents will teach them everything they need to know like dance moves to attract a future mate. 😍

Help Shape the Future of Main Street in Lino Lakes! 🚲🚶‍♂️‍➡️

The City of Lino Lakes and Anoka County are looking for feedback on the proposed Main Street Trail. The trail would provide a safe, off-street walking and biking connection from I-35W to Lino Lakes Elementary School, with links to nearby neighborhoods and the Rice Creek Regional Park Reserve. Your feedback will help us understand how residents would use the trail.
