🍩 🚓 Hey Andover! Tomorrow morning from 7-10am Andover PD is teaming up with the Butler County Sheriff's Office and Dunkin’ Andover to collect donations for the Special Olympics Kansas. You can visit any Dunkin’ across the state tomorrow to make a donation, but we are pretty fond of the one here in Andover! Stop by for some coffee, a donut, and help us support a great cause. 🍩🚓

This morning at approximately 9 a.m., both Andover High School and the Andover Police Department received phone calls that contained threats. AHS was promptly put on lockdown, with students remaining in classrooms.

After examining the names of the students that were mentioned and performing multiple sweeps of AHS, Andover Police and school administrators have determined these threats were not credible and there was no actual threat to students or staff. Other districts in the area have received similar calls this morning.

The safety of our students and staff is our top priority. We are proud of the reaction of our school community, and we thank the Andover Police Department for their partnership and due diligence in this situation.

Due to today’s overcast conditions, the weekly audible test of the outdoor warning devices will not take place today. This precaution helps prevent any confusion during uncertain weather conditions.
Please be assured that the outdoor warning devices are silently tested twice daily to verify that they are properly connected and functioning from the Andover's Emergency Communications Center.
As always, we encourage all residents to stay weather-aware and ensure you have multiple ways to receive emergency alerts.

The Andover Police Department was proud to participate in National Night Out on August 4th. It was a great evening spent connecting with our community, meeting neighbors, and building relationships outside of our usual calls for service. We look forward to seeing you all again next year!
