The National Weather Service has issued an extreme cold warning from 5 p.m. Jan. 22 (Thursday) through noon Jan. 23 (Friday). Windchills as low as -45 degrees are expected throughout the Twin Cities region.

The extreme cold warning extends through noon Friday. Very cold temperatures will continue Friday afternoon into Saturday morning and through the weekend.

During extreme winter weather, our number one goal is to keep our Transit Link customers and drivers safe. Please consider canceling non-essential trips. Extreme cold presents the risk of frostbite for exposed skin. The weather service recommends dressing in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves if you must go outside. When extreme winter conditions exist, it is always safest to stay where you are. If it’s not a necessary trip, consider making it another day when the weather improves.

To cancel your Transit Link ride, call 651-602-5465.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning sleet and heavy snow expected. A wintry mix of between 4 and 7 inches and gusty winds is expected from noon Tuesday through 6 a.m. Wednesday. Please consider canceling non-essential public transportation trips, and keep walkways clear of snow and ice for safety and access.

Nov. 25, 2025 – The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning through mid-morning

Nov. 26. Forecasts predict freezing rain turning to snow, heavy at times, with total accumulation of up to 5 inches across southern Minnesota. Roads will be slippery, and travel could be very difficult. The storm is expected to impact the Wednesday morning commute.

Winter weather can cause delays in travel, even for public transportation. During bad weather, our number one goal is to keep our customers and drivers safe.

1. Keep walkways clear of snow and ice. Anoka County Transit Link drivers will not pick you up if there is not a clear pathway and safe access to get you to the bus.
2. Be ready for delays. On winter weather days when roads and traffic are backed up, some delays are unavoidable. While we always strive to be on-time, be prepared for your bus to arrive a little later than normal.
3. Consider rescheduling your ride. When extreme winter conditions exist, it is always safest to stay where you are. If it’s not a necessary trip, consider making it another day when the weather improves.

Contact Transit Link about your reservation at 651-602-5465.
