Q: Can I sign up over Facebook, Facebook Messenger, or Phone?
A: No. Per our regulations, Passengers can only be signed up by email, fax, or in person.
Q: I sent an email, but have not received a confirmation email. Will I get one?
A: No. Due to the amount of Space-A requests we receive and process, we cannot reply to every email. However, it is advised that you keep a copy (printed or digital) of your original sign-up email. If there is a case where your sign-up did not get processed at the time of your email, we will back-date your sign-up to the time on your email.
Q: What information do you need to be signed up for Space-A Travel?
A: We will need the following information to successfully sign you up for Space-A Travel:
- Your First and Last name, and middle initial
- Your DoD, SSN, or Passport Number (Optional)
- Your DOB (Optional)
- Your branch of service
- Your rank (or rank at time of retirement)
- Your status (Active Duty*, Retired, Guard/Reserve**, etc.)
- Desired destination(s)
- Name(s) of additional passenger(s) travelling with you.
*Active Duty personnel must be on leave or pass status. You must include a copy of your approved leave paperwork in order to be signed up.
**Guard/Reserve Members must have an approved DD Form 1853 in order to be signed up.
Q: My Sponsor is deployed, can I fly Space-A without them?
A: Yes. With a signed letter from your Sponsor's Chain of Command, authorizing you to travel sans Sponsor.
- CAT III: Sponsor is deployed 365 consecutive days or more. Along with a Dependent Verification Letter
-CAT IV: sponsor is deployed between and including 30 to 364 consecutive days. Along with a Dependent Verification Letter
-CAT V: Sponsor is stationed overseas. Along with a Unaccompanied Command Sponsored Dependent Letter.
Q: Is there shuttle service available from the Terminal?
A: Unfortunately, no. Andrews discontinued base shuttle service due to the lack of ridership during August of 2006. There are, however, a number of taxi cab services that have base access (these numbers are available on our AMC Gram.)
