Oct. 16 9:30 p.m. Campsite judging begins in all campgrounds. Please be sure decorations are family friendly.
Oct. 17 2-4 p.m. Trick-or-Treat. Roads closed to all vehicles, bikes and carts. Face painting at amphitheater shelter with donations accepted.
3:30-5 p.m. Pumpkin decorating. Pumpkins available for purchase. Paint and carving tools provided.
5-7 p.m. Hayrides available. Meet in marina parking lot. Consider bringing a cash donation.
5:30 p.m. Live birds of prey presentation at the amphitheater.
6:30 p.m. Campsite decorating awards and prize drawing at amphitheater.
6:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. Kettle corn fundraiser supporting future programming at Salamonie Lake.
7:30 p.m. Night Hike meets at the office parking lot.

• Monroe Lake – beach shop & non-motorized boat rentals
• Salamonie Lake – non-motorized boat rentals & livery shuttle

Update: 9/24/26: The Salamonie Lake, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Chicago District is holding water in the Lake to protect communities downstream. Salamonie Lake is 10 feet above summer pool which puts water on the Tree Trail and most horse trails in Lost Bridge West. The Hickory Loop and trail near the marsh are open. Campsites number 231, 232, and 233 are closed, but other sites are unaffected. Most of this water came in from the watershed instead of falling directly on the property in rainfall. This means most locations are less muddy than during the August high water time. Riders Reunion is being held in the horse camp and visitors are invited to enjoy the bluegrass trio Blue Hollar Band at 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26.

Clean, Drain, Dry. Do your part to stop aquatic hitchhikers and safeguard Indiana’s waterways. Invasive species like zebra mussels and hydrilla can damage native plants and animals, threaten human health, disrupt businesses, and harm the environment. They spread by clinging to tires, boat hulls and motors, hiking boots, and other gear.

You can help by following these steps after leaving a water body.
• CLEAN your boat, trailer, and equipment after each outing.
• DRAIN all water from your boat and gear.
• DRY your boat completely before launching at a new location.

Update 9/18/26: Due to the flash flooding in the last two days, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is holding as much rainwater in the lakes as possible to protect downstream communities. Salamonie is now 6 feet above summer pool and rising. DNR staff will keep the courtesy docks set as long as possible at the Lost Bridge West and Dora boat ramps. The other ramps' courtesy docks and the fishing piers at the beach are not useable at this time. Access at county roads going to the lake is closing as well such as 750 and 680. Some trail areas will once again be going under water or in very wet conditions.

Salamonie Riders Reunion
September 25 and 26 brings the 20th annual horse riders' event in Salamonie Lake's Lost Bridge West Horseman's Campground.
Help us celebrate the 20th Riders Reunion and America's 250th Birthday!
New this year - Patriotic Campsite Decorating Contest! Bring out your best red, white and blue to decorate your campsite.
Friday, Sept. 25
6 p.m. Riders line up for flag parade at the day use area.
6:30 p.m. Presentation of flag and opening of event at the tent.
6:45 p.m. America's Birthday Bash Ice Cream Social
7 p.m. Euchre tournament in the tent.
Saturday, Sept. 26
9:30 a.m. Cobblers and cowboy coffee during silent auction set up.
10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Flag hunt mounted game.
10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Silent auction - bring your items to donate and bid on items you would like.
5:30 p.m. Taco bar meal with taco chips, meat and toppings provided. Bring your own drinks, table service, and a side dish to share.
7-8 p.m. Live music, euchre tournament and kettle corn
8 p.m. Campsite decorating awards presented.

9/09/26 Update: Salamonie staff want to accommodate safe recreation and have been able to reset courtesy docks at Lost Bridge West, Lost Bridge East, Dora and Mt Etna Boat Ramps today.

9/03/26 Update: Salamonie Lake is lowering about one foot per day, but still 11 feet over summer pool. Staff has all boat ramps cleaned of debris and they will continue doing so as wind blows additional pieces. The ramps have no turn around and no courtesy docks. This image shows that some horse trails are getting close to being above water but remain wet and stinky and have unpredictable deep locations. Visit Pirates Cove Marina for more information on their operations. The beach will remain closed to swimming, but there are nice picnic locations, the disc golf course, Salamonie Interpretive Center and almost all of the campsites are ready for your visit.
