Thank you for your service!

Good morning from the Permian Basin ☀️

Out here in West Texas, the work starts early and never stops. With heavy truck traffic and oilfield activity across the region, drivers are urged to use extra caution, stay alert, and give plenty of space on the road.

Proud to serve and protect the communities that keep America moving. 🚔👮‍♂️

Great job, Parka!

Thank you for taking this on!

Thank you for taking this on!

What we’re seeing right now ought to set off alarm bells for every parent in Texas.

There’s a flood of violent, sexual, and downright sick content showing up in online games our kids are using every day. These are more than just harmless distractions. Some of these games are recreating real-life school shootings and other tragedies, putting graphic, twisted material right in front of children who don’t have the tools to understand it.

It’s dangerous, plain and simple. It risks hardening our kids to violence, warping their sense of right and wrong, and opening the door for predators and extremists to get their foot in. And the truth is, the so-called safety systems these companies brag about are falling short, leaving kids exposed in places that were supposed to be safe. I’m not going to sit back and let that happen.

Speaker Burrows asked me to take this on, and I take that responsibility seriously. Parents in Texas deserve to know somebody’s fighting for their kids when these platforms won’t.

I’m going to demand answers, and make sure we close every loophole that’s letting this filth slip through. We will hold these companies accountable, go after the people creating this harmful content, and make it clear that putting profits over our kids won’t fly in Texas. We're taking action, and it’s going to be swift.

Protecting Texas kids isn’t negotiable. I’m going to keep pushing, keep digging, and keep fighting until these platforms clean up their act and parents can trust that their children are safe.

A huge THANK YOU to the Andrews Chamber of Commerce for bringing us another fantastic Wild, Wild West Fest weekend!

Events like this don’t happen by accident - they take an incredible amount of TEAMWORK, HARD WORK, DEDICATION, and a SPIRIT of COOPERATION from so many people across our community.

We’re so grateful to everyone who helped make this year’s festival a success:
•The generous, community-minded SONSORS who make an event like this FREE to the public!
•The ANDREWS CHAMBER of COMMERCE staff and volunteers (Board of Directors, Hispanic Heritage Committee, and Women's Division)
•The ACE ARENA staff
•CITY of ANDREWS employees, especially the Street & Sanitation and Water Departments
•ANDREWS POLICE DEPARTMENT
•EMS
•ANDREWS COUNTY SHERIFF'S ’s DEPARTMENT
•ANDREWS COUNTY, especially the Parks Department and the County Precinct employees
•OC NURSING students
•The STUDENT VOLUNTEERS who showed up to help pickup trash, clean restrooms, and do some heavy lifting
And everyone else who pitched in behind the scenes (sorry if I missed anyone!)

A special shoutout to the Wild, WILD WILD WEST FEST Committee for taking on such a massive endeavor. Thank you to:
•Carl & Tammy Shanks for the Gun Show
•Jerry Sanchez for the Car Show
•Christina & Ivan Payen for the Co****le Tournament
•Gary & Cynthia Rawls for bringing the Petting Zoo
•Heart of America Carnival for the wonderful carnival rides and atmosphere
•Blake Roberts and Roberts Productions for the electrical setup for the vendors and for putting on those incredible concerts Friday and Saturday nights

I also want to thank all the vendors and food vendors who showed up with fantastic merchandise and an amazing variety of delicious food — you made the weekend even better!

Thank you, Andrews, for coming out, supporting local, and making this event so special. Helping direct traffic for three days allowed me to see, firsthand, just how many people showed up to enjoy the family-friendly event, and it was well over 15,000! We’re already looking forward to next year! And, if you see any of the individuals/entities/businesses mentioned in this post, PLEASE THANK THEM! 🤠
