No one greets me, because I’m the daughter of a farmer.
People look away, as if the dirt on my shoes could define my worth.
But they don’t know… these small hands have helped plant dreams.
Every sunrise in the field has taught me about strength, humility, and true love.
While many take pride in fancy clothes, I take pride in the scent of wet soil.
While others chase status, I cherish the purity of a sunset over the cornfields.
Yes, I am a farmer’s daughter.
And if the world doesn’t greet me, that’s fine…
Because nature embraces me, the wind calls my name, and my father’s heart smiles when he sees the fruits of our labor bloom. 🌾

I received a request at the library as follows: It could also have been this address for Walker & Gladys Ping:

Aneta, ND 58212

Hello,

I am looking for a photo of the former home of Walker & Gladys Ping at
121 6th St S

timeframe about 2005-2010. When Walker & Gladys lived in the home, during this timeframe, there was a sign posted on the front of the house that read, "Gladys' House of Pepsi."

I am the niece of Walker & Gladys and am trying to find a photo of the home, with the sign, for our family genealogy records.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

There’s something wrong with this page. I suspect it’s been hacked and I’m trying to figure out what to do about it. I apologize for the dreadful postings.

Sundahl Lutheran has begun a new project to help with food insecurity in our community. Besides collecting items for the Red River Community Action Food Pantry in Michigan on the first Sunday of the month, there is now a little food pantry on the stairway on the southwest entry of the church. If you need something, check it out--if you have extra and want to share, leave it in the "pantry"!!! Thanks to Bill Miller and Linda Retzlaff for getting it built, painted, and mounted!

Another Turkey BBQ is in the books and the heavy rains waited until Monday night/Tuesday (EARLY) morning to appear! I had promised to post photos of my husband, Paul, being awarded a "Quilt of Honor" on Sunday at the All Faiths Service in the park. So here they are. Judy Twete, McVille presented the quilt which honors service personnel who served in war. Paul served in Vietnam. As Judy described the process of selecting a recipient, he was mentally running through the list of Vets he knew in the area who should be awarded the quilt. He had no idea that he was the recipient until his name was announced. Yes, SOME people can keep a secret, especially a proud spouse!
