Please note extension of time for construction and road closure:

Good afternoon,
The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) and Fisher Sand and Gravel would like to advise the traveling public that tomorrow, Friday, June 12, U.S. 64 will be closed between milepost 272 and near the Palo Flechado Fire Department at 10:00 a.m. to allow for construction activities and to ensure the safety of NMDOT and construction staff. This is now expected to last until around 5:30 p.m.
Motorists are advised to use an alternate route.
Outside road closure hours, travelers can expect single lane closures with a pilot car operation from mile post 272.5 to mile post 276.09 during construction hours of 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. After construction hours, a temporary traffic signal will be in place. Travelers can expect reduced speeds and delays during construction.
If you have any questions, you may also reach out to Frank Lozano, Fisher Sand & Gravel Project Manager, at [email protected] or (505) 867-2600 or visit nmroads.com.
The New Mexico Department of Transportation and Fisher Sand & Gravel apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate the public’s cooperation during this necessary work.

Many thanks,

Savannah Willingham, on behalf of Fisher Sand and Gravel and NMDOT
