The ranch offers an uninhibited pioneer cabin and a beautiful pond, as well as pastures, orchards and forests. And another rarity in Southern California. Four distinct seasons!

Stetson Creek Ranch will open for You Pick Apples Saturday and Sunday, November 1 and 2. 10 am to 4pm.

We are off Highway 38 at the roadblock, then 2 miles down 1 N86, Hill Ranch Road. This will be our final weekend of 2025.

We will hold our Canner, Baker, Cider Maker sale.

We weren’t able to open for weeks due to the closure of Highway 38, so we still have tons of juicy, crispy delicious heirloom apples!

Highway 38 is closed to the west of us. It is closed at the top of our road. In the second photo, you can see the road closure, and a silver truck at the top of our road, 1N86.

If you are coming from Big Bear, no problem, come down Highway 38. If you are coming from down the mountain, you will have to go through Big Bear to get here. We apologize for the inconvenience. We have been at the mercy of floods, fires and years without a crop.

I have just posted a photo of Highway 38 at Forsee Creek.

Highway 38 is washed out here, and Cal Trans estimates that the gap is 200 feet wide.

We had hoped to open this weekend. We are at the ranch, preparing. But yesterday when it started to rain, we decided that as senior citizens, the only respectable thing to do was to take a nap! While we slept, nature’s ire was unleashed on our neighbors. The community of Seven Oaks is completely cut off again. Debris flows cut off JENKS Lake Road. Cut off Highway 38 below Angelus Oaks for a while, but that portion is open now.

Our friends at Oak Glen have been hit by mud and debris flows again, and of course it’s apples season. Please check with them to see if they are open, and please, support your local farmer!

We won’t be able to open now, this weekend. We won’t put anyone in harm’s way, or ask them to drive an extra 2-3 hours each way to get here, so please keep checking, and we will let you know when we can open!

Today has been a better day! They have slowed the spread of the fire! They fought hard and saved structures at Angelus Oaks, Seven Oaks and the Weesha Club. I’m thrilled! Each of these places and the people who live there hold a special place in my heart.

This one hurts my heart! This is apparently a spot fire on Highway 38. Please join me in praying for our brave firefighters!

The zigzag road in the lower right is Hill Ranch Road, FS road 1N86. Stetson Creek Ranch is where the road terminates.

You can see the fire on the left of the image. And 7 Oaks Road to the north of us.

We have a small apple crop this year. The apples aren’t quite ripe, so we don’t have an opening date.

And, that was our concern, until the Base Fire started. That beast has been growing exponentially since it started. The most recent Cal Fire map shows it burning on both sides of the Santa Ana River. Way too close for comfort! We are now under an evacuation warning.

As with previous fires, our brave firefighters are out there in triple degree heat, with heavy equipment fighting the fire in extremely rugged terrain. We would like to extend our love and appreciation and respect for them, and thank them for what they do!

We won’t open our orchard for You-Pick until the nearby fire is under control.

We are closed for the 2023 Apple Picking Season! We want to thank everyone who braved the challenges of Highway 38 being closed above us, and the un-maintained condition of 1N86, Hill Ranch Road to come pick apples. We were happy to see old friends come to pick applus, and we’re thrilled to make new friends!

We hope to see everyone next year!
