🚒 Fleet Friday: Engine 51

Engine 51 has been proudly serving Washington Parish Fire District 5 since 2005. Built by the former Ferrara Fire Apparatus Company on a Sterling chassis, the engine was delivered shortly after Hurricane Katrina devastated southeast Louisiana, becoming part of a time when dependable fire apparatus was more important than ever.

Today, Engine 51 is assigned to Station 51, where it serves as the station’s first-out engine. Equipped for both fire suppression and vehicle rescue, it carries firefighting equipment, hydraulic extrication tools, and the equipment needed to respond to a wide variety of emergencies.

For more than two decades, Engine 51 has answered the call for structure fires, vehicle accidents, medical emergencies, and countless other incidents throughout our community. It remains a dependable part of our fleet and continues to serve the citizens of Washington Parish with pride.
