News Release | On August 28, 2025, the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office received information regarding allegations of inappropriate relationships between an Angleton High School teacher, identified as Holly Schroedter Adams, and students.

Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office investigators subsequently initiated a lengthy and intensive investigation, which included conducting a multitude of interviews with both current and former students and examining evidence related to the allegations.

Following the extensive investigation, the case was presented to a Brazoria County Grand Jury. On August 25, 2026, the Sheriff’s Office received indictments related to the investigation. Adams was subsequently taken into custody and charged with 1 count of Tampering with Physical Evidence, a third degree felony, and 2 counts of Purchasing/Furnishing Alcohol to a Minor, class A misdemeanor.

Holly Schroedter Adams was booked in the Brazoria County Detention Center today on bonds totaling $26,000 and released this afternoon, August 25.

News Release | Predator Arrested for Child Po*******hy, 3 First Degree Felony Charges

On August 14, 2026, members of the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division, assisted by members of the Houston-Metro Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, executed a search warrant in the 900 block of Southside Drive in Angleton, Texas, as part of an ongoing investigation into allegations of child sexual exploitation.

During the course of the investigation, the suspect, identified as 31-year-old Edward Lawrence Diaz III of Angleton, was found to be in possession of multiple items of Child Sexual Abuse Material, commonly referred to as child po*******hy.

As a result of evidence located during the ex*****on of the search warrant, Diaz was taken into custody and charged with three counts of Possession of Child Po*******hy involving videos depicting the sexual assault of a child. These offenses are first degree felonies each punishable up to life in prison.

BCSO Investigators are aware that the location of the investigation is in close proximity to Southside Elementary School. At this time, we have found no indication that any students from Southside Elementary School are involved in or connected to the investigation.

We are looking for a Fleet Mechanic to perform repairs and preventative maintenance on vehicles and BCSO equipment and manage a variety of inventory and projects.

Responsibilities: The Fleet Mechanic performs mechanical and electrical repairs on vehicles to include, but not limited to, engines, transmissions, suspensions, brakes, axles, air conditioning, emissions systems, and exhaust. Additionally, this position manages work orders and projects in an efficient manner, performs preventive maintenance on vehicles and BCSO equipment, and maintains sufficient inventory of parts, supplies, and tools. Education & Experience: 3 years in Automotive experience and a valid Texas Driver’s License. Knowledge of 12-Volt electrical systems and intermediate knowledge of vehicle mechanics. ASE Certifications preferred. Additional qualifications can be found on the BCSO Careers Page!
