A lot of people think running for office is all fundraisers and big events. For me, it’s about meeting voters where they are on their porches, in their neighborhoods.

Today I was out knocking doors in the district, reminding folks about the upcoming primary and introducing myself. We’ve got real work ahead of us, but every conversation reminds me why I’m running. With neighbors like these in our corner, I’m confident the best is still ahead.

Everyone knows what a disaster Big Sister Creek is in the late winter and early spring. Our community has finally gotten the attention it deserves on this issue.

This is the information about the potential project and how to leave a comment on the NYS DOT website. There will also be an informational meeting on Wednesday at Evans Center Fire Hall at 7 pm.

On Tuesday, polls will be open from 9 am-9 pm at the LS district office entrance. Three candidates are running for two school board seats. Voters will also be asked to approve the district budget as well as the purchase of new vehicles.

Please come out and vote on Tuesday and grab a Chiavetta's dinner from the LS music boosters before you leave!

This spring, the town established a local development corporation to help inject some economic activity into our area.

This corporation is brand new and will likely take a little time getting its feet wet, but a group solely focused on economic development is a huge win for our town.

Hopefully there will be more news to share on this initiative in the future!

Friday appreciation post.

It has been very hard for a while for first-time homebuyers to afford a house. There are many reasons for this, but the quantity of homes available is undeniably one of the biggest.

There have been some positive developments recently, yet it is just a start.

The town board has reviewed proposals from developers for apartment complexes or new home developments at North Main and along Commercial Street.

There are other proposals as well, but these two projects would be a massive boost for those searching for a home in our wonderful town.

Let's keep the momentum going.
