Under the supervision of the Superintendent of Highways, the main mission of the Highway Department is the maintenance and improvement of a network of approximately 140 lane miles of town highways to ensure a safe infrastructure for the motoring and general public. In addition to road maintenance, within the borders of the right-of-way, the department maintains drainage, cuts grass, and removes br

ush. Residential brush pickup for town residents and community is subject to strict rules and regulations. The department is accountable to keep four bridges in repair. During the winter months, the department is responsible for snow removal and ice control, not only to the Town of Evans 140 lane miles, but also an additional 70 lane miles of Erie County highways.

Paving will begin on Overhead Road on Monday June 15th at 7am!
After Overhead Road, paving will continue Tuesday June 16th and Wednesday June 17th on Wellington Drive (from Route 5 to Lake Shore Road) and Prescott Drive, Wayne Drive, Gates Drive and Elwood Avenue. Please be aware there may be temporary road restrictions and closures. Please avoid the area if possible.

Reminder to drive carefully in those areas. Paving will commence Monday 6/15 and continue through 6/17 (weather dependent) Please avoid these roads as much as possible next week!

Paving season is here!
We will be starting milling on Monday June 8th and Tuesday June 9th.
Milling will begin on Overhead Road. Then we will be milling Wellington Drive (between Lake Shore Road and Route 5). We will also be milling on Prescott Drive, Wayne Drive, Gates Drive and Elwood Avenue (from Route 5 to Elwood Avenue).
Work will start at 7am. Please be aware there may be temporary road closures or restrictions in these areas!
Paving of these roads will begin the following week.

The portion of Lake Shore Road from Sturgeon Point Road to Woodcliff Drive will have a FULL road closure. Beginning Monday May 18th and has an anticipated completion date of May 20th or until complete. Work will be performed between the hours of 7 am and 11 pm daily. Erie County Water Authority will be performing the work.
