Angola Junior Firefighters

This past week was Lake Shore’s homecoming week. On Wednesday, our Angola Junior Firefighters assisted in keeping the bonfire perimeter in check.

On Friday, they participated in the parade, although it unfortunately was cut a little short due to a structure fire in our district.

On Saturday September 16th, 5 of our Junior Firefighters attended Erie Counties 2nd Annual Junior Firefighter Class. Where they were separated into multiple different Companies, and participated in different activities.

Some of the things they touched base on:
-Hose Advancement
-Forceable Entry
-Stop the Bleed
-Search and Rescue
-HAZMAT Decontamination
-Survival

Thank you to all of the instructors and all of those who had a hand at putting this together! We all look forward to the next class!

These Juniors all did amazing, and have a bright future in the fire service!

This past Saturday (August 26th) our Junior Firefighters were invited to do a joint training with Lake Shore Volunteer Fire Co.’s Junior Firefighters. They got to do Hose Bowling, Wall Breaching, Ladder Carrying, Ladder Raising (and lowering) and they got to do a simulated Search and Rescue (in fog and on air).

Everyone had a blast, and it’s safe to say that we will DEFINITELY be doing a joint training day again! Great relationships were built.

The future of these young Firefighters is definitely bright!

A big thank you to Lake View Fire District and Sunset Bay Volunteer Fire Company # 1 for donating helmets to our program with these more modern helmets now placed in service we received a gift from our Chiefs line last night. New helmets fronts with each members number. thank you to our Chiefs line for this wonderful surprise we won't let you down.

All the hard work paid off. To celebrate the first day of summer, we went out for ice cream with some of the membership, and while we were there our Juniors even got the show off the apparatus to a few members of the public.

We're always happy to show what we do to our community, and eat ice cream too.

Today our Juniors participated in water ball at the Brant town park as part of Brant Summerfest. We are very proud of our juniors though they did not win they made their opponents "seasoned firefighters" take notice of their skills and determination with one round lasting over 5 minutes.

This morning we joined the members of our Department for yearly inspection,marching and a ceremony to honor those in the armed forces who gave the ultimate sacrifice

Our Junior Firefighters are in class this month for Fire Police.

Fire Police are used to secure fire scenes and direct traffic.
