Spring is nearly here, and so is the annual burn ban. As the snow melts and temperatures rise, New York State is at an increased risk of wildfires in the spring. In effect from March 16 through May 14, the annual burn ban prohibits residents from burning vegetation and brush with few exceptions.

Well, Old Man Winter is still choosing violence to start this Tuesday. If you’re waking up with little to no water; Another 6 water main breaks occurred overnight.
Erie County Water Authority is aware and actively working on repairs.

The Town of Evans Police Department has no further information at this time.

*** UPDATE*** Kennedy Ave is closed between Maplewood and Lenox; Route 5 Westbound is down to one lane near the Middle School.
Town of Evans Police Department have confirmed multiple water breaks across the town; Erie County Water Authority has been notified.

Due to the upcoming lake effect snow storm and strong winds which are expected to create whiteout conditions, I am issuing a Travel Advisory for all of Erie County as of 10 PM tonight. Please limit all unnecessary travel, but if you must go, exercise caution on the roads and make sure your vehicle has a winter emergency kit.
