That is an official wrap on the 87th session of Hoosier Boys State! 🏛️🇺🇸

To the parents, alumni, and American Legion members who support this program: thank you. This week, we watched approximately 170 young men choose to give up a week of their summer to dive headfirst into learning about civics and leadership.

Right from the start, they got straight to work. We saw incredibly professional and cordial debates, fast-paced voting, and genuine teamwork. Many of these young men arrived on campus as complete strangers, or maybe just guys they competed against in high school sports. Today, they are leaving as part of a lifelong brotherhood.

Thank you to Trine University for hosting us and to every single staff member and volunteer who helped make this week a success. We are sending some incredible future leaders back to your communities today.

There is nothing quite like the brotherhood built at Hoosier Boys State. 🎶

Last night's talent show wrapped up with a massive, auditorium-wide singalong to Piano Man, and the energy was unbelievable. Seeing these delegates come together, link arms, and celebrate each other is exactly what this program is all about.

The talent on stage was off the charts, but the camaraderie in the crowd was the real highlight.

Kicking off the first morning with some real-world leadership! 🏛️

Today the delegates had the privilege of hearing directly from Austin Bonta, the Mayor of Portage, Indiana. It is one thing to learn about local government in a textbook, but it is completely different to ask questions directly to the people running a city.

The guys did not hold back. They lined up at the mics to ask great questions, took notes, and made sure to network and shake hands afterward. This is exactly what Hoosier Boys State is all about.

This afternoon, we welcomed approximately 170 of Indiana's finest delegates to campus to kick off an incredible week. It is always amazing to see how quickly these young men go from strangers at check-in to fast friends hanging out and diving into the opening sessions.

Everyone is checked in, settled, and ready to start building their state. Stay tuned to see what they accomplish this week!
