National Junior Honor Society at Angola Middle School inducted a new group of deserving students during a special ceremony last week. Advisor Amy Sams welcomed everyone and highlighted the volunteer work current members have completed throughout the past year. Four current members recited the pillars on which NJHS is founded, and the new members signed the pledge. Principal Chris Baut congratulated the students on their achievements.
This year was especially remarkable because two AMS students, Addelyn Karns and Mason Boyd, were selected as recipients of the National Junior Honor Society Outstanding Achievement Award. They were among just 500 students chosen from nearly 1 million NJHS members worldwide after an intensive application process. They were recognized for their commitment to the five pillars of NJHS: Character, Citizenship, Leadership, Scholarship, and Service.
Congratulations to Addelyn and Mason! We look forward to seeing all the great philanthropy and leadership to come from NJHS.
