National Junior Honor Society at Angola Middle School inducted a new group of deserving students during a special ceremony last week. Advisor Amy Sams welcomed everyone and highlighted the volunteer work current members have completed throughout the past year. Four current members recited the pillars on which NJHS is founded, and the new members signed the pledge. Principal Chris Baut congratulated the students on their achievements.

This year was especially remarkable because two AMS students, Addelyn Karns and Mason Boyd, were selected as recipients of the National Junior Honor Society Outstanding Achievement Award. They were among just 500 students chosen from nearly 1 million NJHS members worldwide after an intensive application process. They were recognized for their commitment to the five pillars of NJHS: Character, Citizenship, Leadership, Scholarship, and Service.

Congratulations to Addelyn and Mason! We look forward to seeing all the great philanthropy and leadership to come from NJHS.

The AMS Boys Track Team are the 2026 NEEC Boys Track Champions! The team competed against 10 other area schools and won the meet with an impressive team score of 123.20 points. The next highest score was West Noble with 72.20 points.

The meet also featured an incredible moment in the 200M hurdles, where the conference record was broken twice in the same meet, something that has never happened before! Grayson Smith first broke the record with a time of 28.57 in the second heat. That record was then broken again in the very next heat by Alex Bracey, who finished with a time of 28.04.

Congratulations also to Lincoln Weber, who won the long jump and set a new NEEC record with a jump of 18-5.25!

Conference champions include:
• Drew Stillman – High Jump
• Harbor Sutton – 400M
• Whitnee Huff – 1600M
• Alex Bracey – 200M Hurdles
• Lincoln Weber – Long Jump
• Emagene Harrington – 200M

AMS students not only succeed on the track, but also in the classroom. Our team maintained the highest grade requirements to compete, showing AMS strength both on and off the track.

Great job, team!!
