Steuben County Highway and our contractors will be performing road work as follows for the week of May 31st,2026:

Monday through Thursday, June 1st – June 4th

– NIPSCO gas will be relocating gas lines at CR 100 N and 200 W for the roundabout project. Traffic will be maintained by Flaggers, expect delays while traveling through that area.

Monday through Thursday, June 1st – June 4th

- County Highway will be performing extensive grading and adding road gravel to County maintained gravel roads listed below, please stay back 500’ from any County equipment performing this work:

CR 675 E between CR 300 S and Metz Rd

CR 800 E between Cr 700 S and CR 650 S

Johnson Lake Rd between CR 100 E and CR 200 E

Shaughniss Rd from CR 275 E east ½ mile

Monday through Thursday, May 11th – May 14th – NIPSCO gas will be relocating gas lines at CR 100 N and 200 W for the roundabout project. Traffic will be maintained by Flaggers, expect delays while traveling through that area.



Monday through Friday, May 11th – May 15th – County Highway will begin our Right of Way mowing program throughout the County. Tractor Mowers will be mowing vegetation within 5’ of the Road. These are slow moving vehicles, please give them space to work and pass with caution.



Monday, May 11th – County Highway will be performing extensive grading and adding road gravel to County maintained gravel roads, please stay back 500’ from County dump trucks performing this work.



Wednesday through Thursday, May 13th – May 14th – County Highway will be replacing culverts on the following roads. The Roads will be closed between 7:30 am and 3:00 pm each day.
W Sycamore Beach Road between Lane 150 Crooked Lake and Lane 352 Crooked Lake between
CR 600 E between CR 150 N and CR 200 N



Monday through Friday, May 11th – May 15th – Airmarking will begin restriping County Roads. This is a slow moving rolling operation, there will be WET PAINT signs and cones, as well as vehicles Labeled WET PAINT DO NOT PASS with flashing lights. Please give the crew space and do not drive on the fresh paint. Below is a listing of Roads to be striped this spring, it will take approximately two weeks to complete the list.

CR 150 W from Main St (Pleasant Lake) to Angola Limits

CR 500 S from SR 327 to CR 400 W

CR 425 W / 450 W from Orland Rd to CR
500 W
CR 400 W /Golden Lake Rd from Ashley Limits to Angola Limits

For Immediate Release:

Steuben County Highway and our contractors will be performing road work as follows for the week of April 19th, 2026:

Monday, April 20th – County Highway plans on doing extensive grading and adding road gravel to County Maintained gravel roads, please stay back 500’ from County Dump Trucks performing this work.

Monday through Tuesday, April 20th -21st – County Highway will be working on a drainage project on CR 175 N in front of the entrance to the Steuben County Event Center, 4-H Fairgrounds and Recycling Center. There will be intermittent times where each entrance will be blocked and closed, but entrances will be open prior to 7:30 am and after 3:30 pm each day.

Tuesday through Wednesday, April 21st – 22nd – County Highway crews will be out patching with Hot Mix Asphalt on Main Roads, Traffic will be maintained by Flaggers, but expect delays on main roads these two days.

Monday through Thursday, April 20th – 23rd – NIPSCO gas will be relocating gas at CR 100 N and 200 W for the roundabout project. Traffic will be maintained by Flaggers, expect delays while traveling through that area.

Steuben County Highway will be starting a joint repair project on CR 200 W from Angola Limits north to Bayview Road. We will begin work Monday, March 23rd through Friday, March 27th, 2026, traffic will be restricted between the hours of 8 am and 2 pm by Flaggers.
