Our office will be closed on Wednesday, May 20th so that staff and volunteers can attend funeral services for longtime board member Kathy Sibbel. We will reopen Thursday, May 21st at 9 am.

We are shocked and heartbroken by this loss. Kathy brought us joy and laughter, cookies and cards, pep talks and words of wisdom. She was a beautiful soul, and we were blessed to know and love her. We will miss her so much.

Our annual ‘Food for Thought Food Drive’ will be coming to a neighborhood near you May 23rd and 24th. This event is organized by Orbis students each year, and we are so thankful for the time they invest in this project. The three neighborhoods in Ankeny that were chosen this year are Briarwood, Parkview Terrace, and Prairie Trail.

A generous donor has offered to provide raised garden beds for 12-15 Ankeny families! Orbis students will be delivering and constructing the beds over the next few weeks. Sign up this week at the Community Resource Connection, 641 S. Ankeny Blvd.

Rocket Car Wash is hosting a food drive to benefit the Ankeny Service Center.
