Taking inspiration from my buddy Phil today with this post.

Checked out in Ankeny off of Delaware today. I was immediately greeted by two friendly people- one patron and one worker. The lady working recommended a seasonal specialty order and I said sure ring it up, in the spirit of rolling with the punches.

I looked at the payment terminal and saw $16. My immediate thought was “damn liberals charging $16 for a cup of coffee”. Boy was I wrong. Out came this platter of four specialty beverages.

I’m not a food critic so I won’t speak on the four beverages like I have meaningful intellectual insight. But I will say the graveyard affogato was absolutely delicious and the Jack o Chai was great. The four combined were well worth $16. That platter would be like $30 where I’m from in Illinois.

I calculated out with one of the workers how many mg of caffeine were in the 4 combined and figured it was around 80-120. A bit much for my preference— I’m a little jittery writing this— but for you coffee heads it’s probably perfect or maybe not even enough😅

Atmosphere: Phenomenal. They had an entire computer lab in the back for study/work. Complementary wifi. Every worker was super kind and more than happy to answer any questions I had. They made me feel welcome from the start to the end. Will definitely be coming back in the future.
