Happy Friday! Here is your 4th Ave Construction update. 🚧

This past week, a lot of progress was made on electrical work on 4th Ave. Many exciting changes are coming above ground during the first week of September!

Next week:

➡️ Grading begins to get necessary elevation needed to start building the new roadway
➡️ Forming of concrete curb and gutter along the new road between William and Liberty
➡️ Begin preparing areas behind the new curb for foundations and future sidewalks

As a reminder, the 4th and Liberty intersection will remain closed to vehicular traffic until the project is completed. Pedestrian access will be provided around the intersection based on the work taking place.

On Tuesday, August 25, the City and DDA hosted the first walking tour for the Division Street Bikeway Extension project. 🚴

26 attendees walked the corridor and visited 7 stops along the way. At each stop, staff presented draft ideas for improvements in the area. Attendees had opportunities to ask questions and give feedback at each stop.

There are two more public engagement opportunities coming up! Join us at:

🚶‍♀️‍➡️ Walking Tour 2: September 11 (Friday) at 1 p.m., starting at the Catherine and Division intersection and finishing at Broadway Street.

💬 Informational Open House: September 23 (Wednesday) from 5-7 p.m., at the DDA offices (located in the Kerrytown Shops on the 2nd floor, right next to V2V clothing boutique).

Plans are in the works to extend the two-way Division Street Bikeway northwards. Opportunities to talk with staff about the project are coming up next week and throughout September!

It's time for our weekly 4th Ave construction update! 🏗️👷Take a look at the progress made this week:

➡️ Main line storm sewer installed between Liberty and William.
➡️ Storm and sewer tie-ins were installed.
➡️Trench digging and pipe installs for bus shelter drainage.

Here is a look at the progress made this week on the 4th Ave Reconstruction Project. 🚧👷‍♂️

➡️ Installation of main line storm sewer between Liberty and William.
➡️ Installation of electrical between Liberty and William.
➡️ Exploratory excavations took place to locate potential utility conflicts.

Next week:
➡️ Finish installation of the main line of storm sewer between Liberty and William.
➡️ Start grading the road in prep for paving
