Northern Michigan Fire Chiefs and the Presque Isle County Fire Chiefs Association extend our sincere condolences to the Ocqueoc Bearinger Fire Department on the passing of of their chief Gary Yaklin this evening. Chief Yaklin served for many years and was prominent in the Ocqueoc community. The Yaklin family operates Rosa’s Squeeze Inn, a terrific Italian restaurant on US23 just down the street from the fire hall. Chief Yaklin will certainly be missed. Arrangements are pending.

Same story everywhere. Volunteers and paid-on-call responders are needed in many communities. Make a difference. Contact your local fire and/oe EMS agency today!

Not only do we need you, your community needs you!

Nationwide, volunteer services are dwindling down. Understaffed volunteer fire departments means there will come a time when lack of personnel means a delay in their response.

If you have needed a sign what your next adventure might be, please consider this one!

Our meetings are every Tuesday @ 7pm at 4855 Pine St in South Boardman.
