As the waters warm up the island will start to get busy again. Please keep in mind that PK is a National Wildlife refuge. The island is closed but we’re permitted to walk up to tide line. General rule of thumb, keep your feet wet. Dogs are never permitted on the island but of course can be in the water with you. It is also a well known clothing free area. There is no “clothing side/ n**e side” so be aware you and your families WILL be exposed to naturists/nudists.

Remember our little island is a bird sanctuary. It has been since 1928. So, that means no dogs at all on the sand, and people must keep feet wet.

It is clothing optional out there but there is no clothing side/n**e side.

Plenty of sunscreen, plenty of water, and feet wet. Have a great Memorial weekend.

Please keep in mind the Island is off limits due to nesting birds and such. There was an arrest yesterday of a textile with a dog on the beach.

Just a reminder to all, especially the newbies...the island is a bird sanctuary. It is closed to people beyond the signs and absolutely NO dogs. FWC patrols frequently and allows us to get an all over tan. There is no "clothing side / nudist side". It's ALL clothing optional. Please be mindful if you're bringing kids as they will get an eyefull.

Hope everyone had a great 2017 and are planning on a great NYE party and fantastic 2018. As y'all make your trips out this year, how about saying what side you anchored, where sand bars have shifted to and general info. Pics (FB friendly) always.
