ACCA works to reduce food waste in our community in partnership with DC Food Rescue and Whole Foods Market. We collect excess food from Whole Foods at Tysons Boro every week, then distribute it to families in the Annandale/Bailey's Crossroads area. A big thank you goes out to BRAWS (Bringing Resources to Aid Women's Shelters), located in Vienna, VA, which provides packages of menstrual supplies to ACCA for use in our food and hygiene ministry. The supplies are added to our clients' grocery deliveries each week. Thank you to for your continuing support.

BRAWS: Bringing Resources to Aid Women's Shelters

Many thanks to our local Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for its generous donation of food to ACCA and several other local food banks.

The Annandale Stake sponsored its “Unpack the Truck & Stock the Pantry” event on Monday, Aug. 24, in the Sydenstricker Chapel parking lot. From Sydenstricker, smaller trucks were loaded with more than 300 cases of food and delivered to six different food banks throughout Northern Virginia.

In partnership with the Church’s Welfare Square, friends from other faith communities, and local food pantries, volunteers helped unpack pallets of food from the surplus truck and distribute the goods to local pantries, including ACCA. We received more than 300 cases of food, which will help supply our pantry through the fall.

Many thanks to all the volunteers from ACCA and the Annandale Ward who helped unload, unpack, and shelve the food. We are grateful for their generosity and service to our community!

Many thanks to the volunteers from ACCA and the Annandale Virginia Stake News for their help today with unloading the truck with hundreds of cases of food from the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints . The food pantry was very low on supplies and now we are very well-stocked for the fall. More photos and details to come.

Our pantry stock is low and demand is high. We can especially use tuna, spam, canned chicken, soups, sugar, flour, and oil.

Interested in a flexible volunteer position? Drivers are needed to provide rides to medical and therapy appointments for persons age 50 or older who cannot drive themselves. Join Us for the CROP Walk
The 2026 Annandale CROP Hunger Walk will be held October 10 at Lake Accotink Park. Registration will start at 8 a.m. near the marina, and the walk will begin at 8:30 a.m. All ages are welcome to participate in the CROP Hunger Wal,k and walkers raise funds through sponsors, and the funds benefit ACCA as well as Church World Service.
