Rescue Engine 47 responded as the third due Engine on the non-hydrant box alarm for a reported house on fire in Crownsville, with multiple calls and a large column of smoke in the air Truck 46 was added to the call as the working fire truck along with Battalion Chief 46. With the closest fire hydrant being almost 2 miles away the a tanker shuttle was established and RE47 assumed water supply duties. Truck 46 arrived to supplement the Rapid Intervention Team. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

While returning to quarters after clearing a box alarm and subsequent medic local, Rescue Engine 47 was alerted for a dumpster fire to the rear of building on Admiral Cochrane Dr. RE47 arrived with a well developed fire in the dumpster and deployed an attack line. The fire was extinguished quickly and RE47 returned to service shortly after.

Rescue Engine 47 and units from Anne Arundel County Fire Department responded to the 1500 block of Ritchie Hwy for the motor vehicle accident with reported roll over. E171 and M17 arrived first and confirmed the location with a vehicle on its roof. First arriving units were able to assist the passengers from the car and began patient assessment. RE47 arrived and assumed a blocking position, 47's chauffeur began placing absorbent down to contain leaking fluids while the crew assisted with patient care until the arrival of a second medic unit. Both patients were transported by ground to local trauma centers. RE47 returned to service and hour after initial dispatch.

🚨Truck 46, Battalion 46, and Rescue Engine 47 on the 35-27 Box, 2-Alarm Working Commercial Structure Fire. Units responded on the 2nd Alarm assignment to the 1800 block of Margaret Ave and assisted both Annapolis FD and Anne Arundle County FD units, with a working structure fire in a commercial structure. TK46 relieved crews on Division #1, assisted with fire extinguishment, and completed extensive overhaul. BC46 was assigned as the Division #1 supervisor. While RE47 completed a search of the Bravo exposure and assisted with RAMFAN operations.

🚨Engine 471 responded mutual aid to Annapolis City in the 36-04 box, for the working structure fire. E471 arrived 5th due engine in the 1200 block of Crows Nest Ct and established a secondary water supply. E471 assisted Annapolis FD with fire extinguishment on side Charlie, before being reassigned to Division 2 interior. E471 performed extensive overhaul and fire extinguishment in both Div2 and the attic.

🚨Truck 46, Battalion 46, and Engine 471 on the 38-22 Box Alarm on Southgate Ave. Units arrived on scene of a large 3 story residential with an active chimney fire. Units assisted Annapolis FD with fire control of the chimney and confirmed no extension into the residence.

Truck 46, Engine 471, and Battalion Chief 46 responded to the elevator rescue in the 46-02 box. Upon arrival, units identified one immobilized individual within an elevator car that was lodged between floors. Truck 46 and Engine 471 secured the power supply, deployed personnel into the elevator car, and utilized ropes to safely extract the individual without injury.

The crews from Company 46 and Company 47 hosted a luncheon today, to celebrate Deputy Fire Chief Gray’s upcoming retirement and to recognize his dedicated service to the NDWFD. Congratulations, Chief, and best wishes in your retirement!

Truck 46 runs 2 working fires 🚨

In the early morning hours yesterday, Truck 46 responded to Spa View Circle for the reported structure fire. Annapolis FD units arrived on scene w/smoke showing and requested the WFD. TK46 arrived 2nd due truck, secured utilities, deployed ladders to side C/D, and completed a secondary search. Engine 471 responded on the WFD. Both units assisted AFD and AACoFD with extensive overhaul.

Later that evening Truck 46 responded to the reported structure fire at the 1600 block of Cambridge Road. AACoFD units arrive on scene w/fire showing, requesting the WFD. Battalion Chief 46 added to the call. TK46 arrived 2nd due truck, secured utilities, deployed ladders to side C/D, and completed a search of division 1. Units encountered heavy hoarding conditions and compromised floors. BC46 assumed division 2 supervisor. TK46 assisted AACoFD and AFD with extensive overhaul and secondary searches.

🚨 Battling the bitter cold and ice, Truck 46 and Rescue Engine 47 responded to two working fires over night:

Around 1920 TK46 and RE47 responded to the 19-07 Box for the non-hydrant structure fire, at the 1700 block of Beachfield Rd. Units arrived to find a working chimney fire w/extension inside the home. TK46 assumed 1st due special assignment, while RE47 assumed 2nd due engine. RE47 OIC took command of Division 2. Both units worked to open up the walls and assist AACoFD and AFD units on extinguishing the fire.

Just after midnight TK46 and RE47 responded to the 17-16 Box for another reported structure fire. Units arrived on scene of a townhome at the 300 block of Carronade Way w/heavy fire side C. TK46 arrived 2nd due special and assisted AACoFD units with search and overhaul of side C and the D exposure. RE47 arrived 4th due engine, completed the spilt lay, and deployed their 400’ attack line. Both units assisted AACoFD and AFD with extensive overhaul in both the original unit and D exposure.
